Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum labeled Rush Limbaugh "absurd" over disparaging remarks from the radio talk show host directed at a law student who testified before a House panel in support of access to contraceptives.
"He's being absurd, but that's you know, an entertainer can be absurd," Santorum told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Friday. "He's in a very different business than I am."

“Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd.”
He clearly doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Meanwhile, Obama’s $1 million donor, Bill Maher gets clean away with calling Sarah Palin a “dumb tw*t” and not a peep from anyone.
You just knew Little Ricky was going to butt in on this issue sooner or later. What a loser.
I trust you mean Santorum and not Rush.
Pandering to Sluts is no way to speak out on your ethics message you have been preaching. WOW, unbelievable. At this point he is now the GIFT that keeps on giving.
Oh well, not my problem, lol GO NEWT
Ricky has no balls.
Santorum, you don’t go after the most popular conservative in the country (pro-life to boot)unless you are clueless.
Lets take a look at what Newt Gingrich had to say about conservatives in NY.
Newt Gingrich: Doug Hoffman support a ‘mistake’
Gingrich calls GOP support for Hoffman a ‘purge’
Gingrich: A Vote for Hoffman Is a Vote for Pelosi
Sometimes the best way to show and mock how ridiculous something is, is to mock the ridiculous.
Flukey Girl handed us a golden egg, and Rush is making golden omelets.
What’s wrong with his answer? Wolf was looking for a “gotcha” and Santorum basically responded by repeating back to Blitzer the same phrase that Rush says every day on his show: “Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd”.
That is and/or, hee, hee
Yes, Ricky is absurd even though he is not supposed to be.
I hope Rush hears this. Then perhaps he’ll remember this:
In Ga., Gingrich helped build conservative base
“ATLANTA It wasnt so long ago that the Republican Party in Georgia was just an afterthought, and Democrats were in firm control of all the levers of state government. Back then, Newt Gingrich and other die-hard GOP stalwarts ventured across the state with the far-fetched message that Republicans could reverse the tide.
Now with commanding majorities in the Statehouse and control of all statewide offices, Gingrich is hoping his vision for how the GOP could overcome decades of Democratic dominance in Georgia will pay dividends. He sorely needs a victory when his home state votes Tuesday, along with a big chunk of its 76 delegates, to prove his stumbling presidential bid has staying power.
Many Republican figures in Georgia still credit him with championing conservative policies, outlining a framework for what a GOP majority in the state could accomplish and broadcasting talking points to a generation of up-and-coming conservative leaders. Hes also applauded for lobbying conservative Democrats, like then-Rep. Nathan Deal, to switch parties.
Everyone else was trying to lose as slowly as possible, and to die with dignity at the Alamo. He was talking confidently that the Republican majority in Georgia, in the South and nationally was right around the corner, said Ralph Reed, a veteran Georgia GOP operative who founded the national Faith and Freedom Coalition. On the one hand it was crazy, but on the other it was just the most exciting thing youve ever heard..............................
If Santo cared about this country he would join forces with Newt.. to beat Willard..
He surely knows Newt is the better candidate..
Obviously he doesnt care about America.. he cares about himself..
His ideas pale next to Newts.. they are infantile..
Not much difference between Santo and Willard..
Newts ideas are a whole new ballgame..
Its true Newt may be a whore..
But Santo is a shlemiel and Willard is a shemozle..
Used the word as an adjective. Get a grip.
What? The Pelosi/Fluke histrionics wasn’t theater of the absurd? Rush was merely exposing the insanity of it all and Santorum calls that absurd? I never thought that Santorum was a straight-shooter anyhow!
Sounds like a measured, good answer to a gotcha question to me.
Sounds like a measured, good answer to a gotcha question to me.
Santorum didn’t butt in. He was asked by Blitzer and all he did was respond with what Rush says all the time.
He uses the absurd to make a point.
Butting in would have meant he sought out someone and offered his critique without being asked.
Jimmy Fallon Embarrassed Michele Bachmann Scandal
You have to ask yourself, who is it that more conservatives trust-Rush or Santorum? Santorum isn’t quick-witted enough to side-step lib traps. The “community organizer” would cream him!
What is he supposed to do? Is he supposed to say he agrees with the comments and that the woman is a slut? The libs are already painting him as anti-woman. If he did that, it would only add more fuel to the libs’ fire which is spread across MSM outlets. The same “Little Ricky” haters here criticizing him would then use his comments of agreement to paint him as a Catholic extremist who focuses too much on the social issues, is anti-woman, and can’t keep his mouth shut. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. The man can’t win, and you know it.
Did you read more than the headline? The word "absurd" is taken out of context in the headline.
No, Ricky, we don’t want to pay for women having their sex and buying their pills to do so. Pay for those pills on their own. That girl is trashy. This should had been right with your convictions. This is why I don’t support you. Trying to make points with the establishment is a sell out.
I’ve known all along Trick Ricky Dicky is a fraud. FURS!
See post #30.
I’m guessing that if you were to ask Rush if he thought his comment was absurd he’d probably say yes and explain, “That’s what I do”.
Back when he was defending Bill Maher over the “brave terrorist” remarks that got Maher fired, Rush said the comments were over the line but explained that controversial comments are what pays the bills for all of them.
Hey Rush. That what's the political establishment thinks you are. An "entertainer". Get on The Team. The Conservative Dream team.
See post #30. I’ll also add that you darn well that Rick Santorum has been a leader in opposing Obama’s contraception mandate. He is even personally opposed to using contraception. Not long ago, you Newt supporters were hating on Rick and painting him as an extremist too focused on social issues for his opposition. You can’t have it both ways.
(This blanket explanation/excuse is redeemable for use in all future Santorum blunders and is non transferable to any other candidates for explicit use, so sayeth the Lord!)
Exactly, this crap is childish and pathetic.
Shut up Rick.
I hope Limbaugh says it again!
SLUT SLUT SLUT SLUT SLUT SLUT!!
Santorum, you dont go after the most popular conservative in the country (pro-life to boot)unless you are clueless.
Why would’nt he? He lied about Newt.
He’s got about as much depth as a bird-bath.
I'm really not paying much attention to this silliness and even I know that Santorum words are the exact same as Limbaughs. Limbaugh was been his usual self by being over-the-top with with absuridty himself on an absurd and moronic topic.
If we can’t have it both ways, I and(I would many others) would be righteous in sitting this election out.
There was something about Santorum that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Now I know—he’s clueless. He should have stayed out of this one.
I will try to explain to you what I think he should have done... what I would have done.
I know what this woman said... Rush quoted her... I would have quoted her own words verbatim and asked Wolf what his definition of her desription of herself was in his opinion. I would then quote Webster’s on the exact English definition. I would have read her blog entry about how she chose George Town because she wanted to challenge the Church on reproductive rights... that is what I would have done.
Rush did all of that yesterday. Santorum should have been better prepared for this question and he either took the easy way out or he was sadly uninformed... and he is running for leader of the Free World. He is not qualified for the office he aspires to and this is just more proof. IMHO, YMMV... this is my opinion and my opinion only.
Hows’ that concern trolling going for ya??

If your guy was doing so good, he would be ahead, problem with Newt is that he has a very limited following.
Face it, after weeks of picking on Santorum, it has yet to elevate Newt. Romney team is better than any of us at taking out Newt or Rick. So quit wasting your time. Pick on Romney instead.
Newt is accountable for all of his own problems as much as Santorum is.
Meanwhile, Romney is going to walk away with it.
So spare me your venom.
