This modern-day fable provides a cautionary tale on the assumptions we make about the 11 million unauthorized immigrants who live and work in America every day.
An oft-repeated mantra used to malign these "economic refugees" -- a term that more closely defines who they actually are, rather than the inflammatory "illegal immigrant" -- is that they don't pay taxes. They send their kids to our schools, and they don't pay taxes. They earn their wages, and they don't pay income tax. Such incendiary assertions are coded language designed explicitly to generate a negative reaction. The facts, which most people don't know, refute such claims entirely.Sales tax. Like everyone in the country, every time a refugee goes to a store and buys something, they pay sales tax. They buy milk; they pay sales tax. They buy shoes; they pay sales tax. They buy a television; they pay sales tax.
Property tax. When refugees rent -- whether it's in an apartment building, a room in a house or a house -- a portion of that rent is passed on to the landlord, who pays property tax to the state.

I know context is everything, but I think “braf” may still be open to interpretation there.
I’d really like to be able to go to Home Depot, or drive down the streets at the edge of town and not have to “wade through” a bunch of illegal Mexicans standing around. So count me in for every “day without Mexicans” that they want to put on. The drunk drivers are off the road, the home invasions are gone, the rapes stop. The idea that we can’t get along without them is ludicrous. California was prosperous when we didn’t have them hanging around our necks. Now we have enough “wetbacks” in our legislature whose sole purpose is to legitimize their illegal spawn.
There is a problem though. Don’t expect “Baraq’s people” to take these jobs. Their standard of living supplied from the govt (aka taxpayers) precludes the need to do any min wage work.
I imagined just that very thing the other day. With it, I also imagined:
1. No pressing 1 for English,
2. No annoying bilingual signs at Lowe`s,
3. Cleaner and safer neighborhoods,
4. Secure borders,
5. No Latin Kings or any other Mexi gangs,
6. A fraction of the waiting time at any given hospital ER,
7. No drug cartels laying claim to large swaths of land on the southern part of Arizona, NM or Texas,
8. Cartel-free National Parks,
9. No overcrowing in jails and prisons, especially in the Southwest,
10. No a**holes posing as “teachers” calling for armed insurrections by Mexicans in Texas,
11. No BS about some “reconquering” some mythical Aztec region called “Aztlan.”
Etc., etc., etc.
Yeah... I can do that quite well.
Juan and Maria sneak accross the border. Maria is 8 months pregnant and goes to a local hospital for a free ($10,000) birthing experience that produces an anchor baby who will get welfare for the next 18 years. Maria and Juan have three more of the free birthing experiences over the next few years.
Juan and Maria are hard workers and earn nearly $25,000 per year. They pay no income taxes but get almost $7,000 per year in Unearned Income and Child Tax Credits.
Now the couple have four welfare dependent children getting a free ($9,000/year/each) education.
The above is the tip of the iceberg. You do the math.
This liberal crappola is as absurd as Pelosi saying unemployment checks create jobs.
Now add to that ALL the illegals in this country. What type of jobs do they have, and how much do they make? How many illegal children and children of illegals are in this country getting a "free" education?
If we use the number that 20 million illegals are in this country and then assume that 1/3 are children, thats 6.66 million kids in this country, getting a "free" education.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that the numbers will never work.
If one lives? Hell, even if they were dead the landlord still has to pay the property tax.

Agree. But one thing I’d like to say. The government and media cop to 12 million being here. I say it is minimum three times that, like 4 or 5 times that.
There are just too damned many of them in every part of this country to be just 12 million strong.
Yeah, it just makes me want to BRAF! I live in Cali. They tried that before. Suffice it to say, it didn’t work!
Crime falls dramatically, esp. violent crime.
Traffic becomes less hostile and driving becomes safer as huge numbers of marginal drivers are eliminated.
The Emergency Rooms at urban hospitals suddenly become accessible and waiting times drop. Better yet, they stop losing money on patients who never pay their bills.
Government expenses for medical assistance, housing assistance, welfare, “English as a second language” programs, and educating the children of illegal aliens take a huge drop (MUCH larger than any loss of revenue).
California jails and prisons are suddenly MUCH less crowded.
Entry level jobs for teens open up.
Yeah, some schools will have to close and some teachers and school staff fired. Same for cops and prison guards - won't need as many. Even worse for the empire-building bureaucrats that depended on Illegal Aliens for their reason for existence. Fire ‘em all. More savings.
All it all, it sounds like a good day and one the people of California would want to go on and on and on...
