Those 1500 were Santorum supporters. Romney is behind this.

Starting to sound like the SEIU is running the GOP primaries.

True. And Newt is now blasting Santorum so that he can get a few more percentages to his last place finishes is just allowing Romney to win these things. His strategy gets worse by the minute.

In 2008 our Republican caucus drew about 280 people in our Washington State legislative district. So we decided to rent a school cafeteria with a fire marshal’s rated capacity of 400 people. To our amazement, 900 Republicans showed up. We had to hold our caucus in shifts with a time limit that the building be vacated by noon. That tells me there is a tsunami on its way.

This is actually great news. The event organizers expected 2000 to show up and 3500 showed up? We may be looking at taking over the Senate, keeping the House and send 0Bama back to Chicago.

Caucuses must be eliminated in future cycles. They are antiquated, corrupt, prone to error and systemic mismanagement, and a total embarrassment to the party.

This cycle alone we have endured the chaos of caucuses and Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, Maine, and now perhaps Washington.

Eliminate all caucuses and transition to primaries. Tremendously more participation by the voters and remove the stranglehold of the Establishment.

Hubby and I went to a caucus in Federal Way, WA (King county). They had it in a Jr. High School cafeteria and the fire marshall said that only 280 people could be in there. Well, lots more than that showed up.

They decided that the first people who showed up would vote in the presidential preference straw poll and then pick their precinct reps (I am an alternate). The next group would get to vote in the presidential straw poll; but, the reps for the next step in the process had alread been chosen. They just didn't expect this kind of turn-out.

Washington usually has BOTH, non-binding caucus and then a full primary (open, sigh) but this year they cut out the primary due to budgetary problems in state.

Right now Ron Paul has a better chance of beating Romney.

Newt a distant fourth in a three way race.

I am thrilled to see the voter turn out in my state. This caucus process is not a formally organized event. It is primarily a local event organized by local activists. It was probably impossible for them to guess that voter turn out would be so much larger than in 2008. If one does not want to be disfranchised from voting, one should take part in organizing the event, instead of just showing up, or at least show up early. I showed up 1/2 hour early and had no problem getting in.

I blame the genius “advisers” that Newt is apparently listening to. They are totally clueless about stopping Romney. Or perhaps just in it for the paychecks from Adelson.

Also note that the caucus arrangements are not done formally by the secretary of state. It is locally organized by local activists.

There is nothing cheerful in not being able to vote. I was simply describing the reality of the situation on ground. And if they do not show up in November, I am positive that will make the anointed one very happy.

Remember that Romney ran before so he was very aware of the primary format. Next, he had a massive amount of money and used millions to buy up all the air time in Iowa and bash Newt 24/7. I watched Newt stand up during the debates in Iowa and get attacked by Bachmann, Romney and even Santorum.

Newt has been consistent on his solutions and we know what a magnificent record he has as Speaker...the best. There was hope that Romney would go down if he lost Michigan and even though the delegates were split..he won. Cain, I have NO doubt in my heart of hearts that Newt would make the greatest president since Reagan. I do not doubt it at all. We would see our gas prices at the pump cut; we would see the end of the Obama administrations csars, maybe even some of the judicial activists and of course he would never apologize to the terrorists. There is so much I love about Newt..but I will get back off my soapbox as I am watching Newt on Huckabee's forum right NOW! he is amazing

I am Medicare age. I guarantee all voters will not show up early to vote. Some did show up way early on black Friday for shopping though. Naw...there was no breaking the doors down type of mob for voting.

Newt would be a phenomenally effective president. He is not dead yet. Many states favor him and those are yet to vote.

I’d walk out on the ice of a frozen lake to vote in the cold if that’s what it took.

It just doesn’t seem all that complicated to look at how many eligible voters there are and plan accordingly.

Will someone tell The Boy Wonder (Little Ricky Santorum) to:

1) STOP attacking Newt

2) STOP saying REALLY STUPID things, once a week ...

Ricky's troubles may only be beginning ...

Rush Limbaugh's massive cave-in APOLOGY will cripple his standing with Conservatives ...

And who has Rush Limbaugh been ferociosly endorsing ?

Little Ricky Santorum ...
