Newt's numbers have moved up 4 points the same as Mitt's. But the news is that Romney is surging.

Two new polls released Sunday show Mitt Romney surging in Tennessee, closing the gap behind rival Rick Santorum.

Santorum has 34 percent support to Romney's 30 percent among likely GOP voters in the state, according to the latest survey from conservative polling outlet Rasmussen Reports. But Santorum's edge is within the poll's four-point margin of error.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows with 18.

Well, I’m not for Romney, but it would be nice if Santorum got knocked out by losing Ohio and Tennessee. This needs to get down to Newt and Romney.

I’m not sure this is a wise scenario.

True, but it isn’t going to happen. Santorum is in it for himself, not the good of the country.

Santorum has a problem with delegate slates in Ohio. The MSM is running headlines to give the impression that Newt’s win in GA is “must win” and that he’s practically begging for votes while in fact he has a commanding lead. I believe all these national headlines about Newt and the GA vote are meant to keep someone in Ohio or Tennessee, etc from voting for Newt over Santorum. Then when Mitt “amazingly” does better than expected, it hurts Santorum’s non-Romney status (but who took votes from Newt) and the end result is the MSM and the Left help their preferred candidate, Mitt Romney — the moderate from Mass.

I understand your concern, but Romney has yet to get over around 38% in any decent sized state.

Sorry...the numbers just aren’t there for Newt. After Super Tuesday he will have won 2 of 23 states.

Oh tosh! Stop spouting such nonsense. I am primarily a Newt supporter, but such statements about Santorum are uncalled for. Besides, I have heard the same things said about Newt. IN BOTH CASES THEY ARE WRONG.

It is deeply disturbing to see Gingrich and Santorum supporters fighting. ROMNEY IS THE ENEMY.

What is BEST for the country, would be for Newt and Rick to unite into a single team (I’m not putting one before the other). I think those two combined would be a winning ticket.

Romney is a road to disaster....even IF he wins.

While I put Newt ahead of Rick....and could strongly back either in the General Election (especially if the other was the VP partner). I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY.

Santorum needs to go! Get out, give the only professional in this race a clear shot to take out Romney.

Santorum will ruin us, and has no chance of winning against Obama.

I was recently laid up with double pneumonia. It was nasty stuff, I missed 3 weeks of work and am still regaining my strength. During the early part of it when I was really feeling bad I was checking news sites like FR, Drudge, Fox News for stories about the election to and fro. I read some quote from Sheldon Adelson, this was at the time where he said he might spend a $100 million supporting Newt, that seemed to indicate the reason he was doing it was to thwart the Santorum bid. Presumably in support of Romney by way of restraining Santorum by backing Gingrich.

This didn’t make a lot of sense to me and I tried to research it but I was weak and tired and soon I was back to sleep in the recliner. I haven’t forgotten it, though, and it will be interesting to see how long Newt hangs on if he doesn’t catch fire soon and move up to be a real contender. Santorum is already telling Newt to get out.

/End ravings of an old sick guy :)

The conservatives and independents have to rally behind Newt. The media has played us to get behind 2 conservatives. Please people rally with Newt so Newt can go one on one to Romney. Rick has had his chance. It is not working. He cannot handle the media; how can he handle Obama? People are pleading with Palin to help. Many want Newt to take on Obama. We are going to have to unite and turn this ship around. If Rick were the best, I would be behind him, he's not. We are going to get Romney. We need a call to arms !! Our army and team are divided. SOS. We have to stop Romney, please support Newt Super Tuesday. Call all of the radio shows ask for them/plead for unity.
