OKLAHOMA CITY -- About 20 liberal demonstrators tried to shout down Rick Santorum while he delivered his stump speech on the steps of the state capitol building here Sunday, yelling "racist" and "fascist" at the Republican presidential candidate. The anti-Santorum faction began chanting "Get your hate out of our state" when the candidate started his address. Standing before a microphone at the top of the steps, Santorum ignored them and continued speaking. The demonstration lasted about 15 minutes. Santorum supporters standing near the front of the crowd tried to come to his aid by holding signs

Should have had the bastards arrests for assault when they tore down hand-held signs.

We need to bloody the Left every time they cross the line into unlawful actions.

Why drag Newt into this?

I’m thinking that too! I also think that if Gingrich could only get a toe-hold in the polls, he’ll be in that hot-seat too! It says a lot when they (the extreme lib.s)don’t like someone, and they give them a real bad time, you might have a possible good conservative winner! The only problem is-is he a solid, all-around conservative?

I know he’s a solid, social conservative. However, how is he on other issues? I like Rick S., I could support him. I prefer Gingrich, but I could take Santorum. I wish he had a bit more executive experience than he has. It depends on if he has someone with executive experience for V.P. or in his cabinet close-by!

I guess we have had our suspicions confirmed as to what Occupy’s job will be this election season.

Nah — shows who is the most SOCIALLY conservative ...get anyone up there who is vocally against homos and abortion and you’ll draw out these evil demons.

If Santorum won the nomination, expect this non-stop ...they will freaking explode. Got have that birth control and those abortions, and dammit, it’s got to be FREE. Santorum would make them see RED and nothing else.

It’s why we need Newt.

Rick Santorum is a full spectrum conservative, but the media, including Chris Wallace, wants to take our minds off of Rick’s other conservative stances.

There’s a reason why these conservative groups gave Rick a good rating:

http://votesmart.org/candidate/evaluations/27054/rick-santorum

“2005 Republican Liberty Caucus – Economic Liberties Score 90%
2004 Republican Liberty Caucus – Positions 87%
2003-2004 Campaign for Working Families – Positions 100%
2003-2004 Concerned Women for America – Positions 100%
2005 American Conservative Union – Positions 92%
2003 Concerned Women for America – Positions 100%
2003 Eagle Forum – Positions 87%
2003 National Journal – Conservative on Economic Policy Score 82%
2003 American Conservative Union – Positions 90%”

Armed Chavista thugs also attacked the opposition candidate in Caracas today.

Probably a coincidence.

So you say that Newt won’t take their free abortions and birth control??

That sounds like a reason to support Rick.

I don’t care if they are doing this to Newt, Mitt or Rick (or Fox News’ reporters, Ann Coulter, David Horowitz etc). It is inexcusable that leftists can pull these stunts. They are interfering with the civil rights of Americans when they try to stop people from speaking. They often succeed, at least when it comes to people who don’t have the protections political candidates do.

While Chris Wallace asks the gotcha social questions that he copycats from the Obama networks, here’s Rick Santorum’s last two posts on Twitter:

“(snip) As commander-in-chief, I would commit to keeping our promises to veterans. This is not a Republican/Democrat issue, but an American issue (snip)

If you give me opportunity, I will fight for you. @WSJ called my plan: supply-side economics for working man
Bloodying the left is EXACTLY what they want.

That was the trap Rush fell into - a media stunt, intended to provoke any decent person. He was right - for al lthe good it did.

What we need to do is stay on message. Consitution, economy, jobs, deficit.

Every time they pull the crazy stuff - mention $1,3TRILLION deficit. Every time they mention “inherited” - say “Irresponsible blame shifter”.

The Rush event showed this - they INTEND to create confusion, and with their media power - can confuse a lot of idiots out there.

We don’t even need Solyndra - just say - Gas Prices = XL pipeline.

It is the BC play all over again - they WANT sideline confusion. And we have no need for it.

No — you’re stretching it. Newt is not identified with the social issues like Santorum is. And if you look at Newt now, he’s not stressing those issues, except for the religious liberty ones.

Long-term lefty activists know Santorum from way back. He’s been on the forefront of the abortion issue for years ... and they’ve hated him for years. His name just being mentioned as president gets them seething.

So they don’t hate Newt?

If Newt isn’t a social conservative then I have no reason to even consider it.

Oh, they hate Newt — but not for the same reasons as Santorum. I just don’t think they can quite get their hackles up as high with Newt. Though they hate him, they cannot match his logic and wit — so, I feel, (my theory only) they will hate him, but they’ll respect him.

Santorum — they just mock and persecute, call him stupid, etc.

Again, just my own deep feelings on the issue. Have worked in the pro-life field a lot time - and I understand these people. Abortion is their sacred right — Santorum is MOST CLOSELY IDENTIFIED with this issue. Newt is pro-life, but it’s not his signature issue.
