Hackers gained "full functional control" of key Nasa computers in 2011, the agency's inspector general has told US lawmakers.
Paul K Martin said hackers took over Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) computers and "compromised the accounts of the most privileged JPL users".
He said the attack, involving Chinese IP addresses, was under investigation.

There needs to be another word for this besides hacking. This is not hacking. This is the Chinese NSA launching a probing and reconnaissance attack on the USA. Good thing the Military doesn’t let NASA in on the really black ops. Uh-oh, hope that mess up there doesn’t get any ideas.
It is worse than you think because once the spies gain the illegal access they leave behind in the computer what is called Trojan Horse software that allows them to re-access the computers anytime they wish.
The California professors who run the computer systems should be taken off contract and the military put in control of their computers and physical security.
