Its selling so slowly that General Motors is going to shut down the plant that builds it for five weeks, but critical accolades for the Chevrolet Volt keep coming in.
The plug-in hybrid has been named 2012 European Car of the Year, along with the versions of it called the Opel and Vauxhall Ampera. Sad to hear that Opel is involved in this sham. My ‘64 hot-rodded Opel Manta was the most fun car I’ve ever owned!

How do you go from having absolutely no authority to speak on automotive questions to less than that?
Ask Motor Trend's editors. They seem to have succeeded.
To: ColdOne
Psst! Hey! You guys can achieve a historical first if you award the 2012 Peace Price to the Chevvy Volt!
That would sure make the cover of Time Magazine!

They tested both cars on Top Gear and neither won any praise at all. Both made it about 40 miles and they had to wait for an 8 hour charge.

Never underestimate Europe’s willingness to embrace a losing proposition.

Ah. The Europeans, who thought this was a good idea, are giving the Dolt an award.
Please excuse me while I don't give a crap.
