Calderon and Biden: U.S. guns fuel Mexican violence and crime
- National Law Enforcement | Examiner.com ^ | 3/06/2012 | Jim Kouri

Posted on 03/06/2012 10:31:14 AM PST by GregNH

During his meeting with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Mexico City, President Felipe Calderon said the only way to win his country's war with the drug cartels is to jointly tackle organized crime including arms trafficking along the border as well as ceasing the rampant cross-border money laundering, according to a press statement.

The Mexican government has waged a war to eradicate organized crime gangs that has killed more than 47,700 victims over the past five years, according to figures released earlier this year by the Attorney General's Office.

Calderon claimed -- and Biden on behalf of the Obama administration agreed -- that the drug cartels have challenged the military and police with advanced weapons, most of which are trafficked illegally from the United States.

But Thomas McMahon, a former police commander and proponent of Second Amendment rights, tells the Examiner that these are no conclusive studies to support the claims of Calderon, Biden, Obama, or Attorney General Eric Holder.

"Trying to prove the canard of rampant gun-smuggling is what cost so many lives due to the Operation Fast and Furious debacle. That entire operation was politically-motivated and more about gun control in the U.S. than solving drug and gang problems in Mexico," said McMahon, now a private security executive.

I strongly suspect that our politicians send guns and the Mexican drug lords send money in return.

People claim that if tar and feather Zippo or toss him out or arrest his az that there will be riots in the streets. I am afraid that they would be hard pressed to find the rioters for the dancers of jubilation.

Remember in one of Bidens’ campaign stump speeches when he said “No one is ever going to take my Beretta.”? When I heard it I thought “What’s the big deal, I doubt if you payed for it, anyway. Probably a $25,000 Beretta SO5 Sporting Shotgun given to him by a lobbyist”.

Sorry, but it seems our Congress refuses to hold Obama and Holder accountable for illegally selling weapons to Mexican drug gangs in their Operation Fast & Furious.

Maybe Mexico can go to the international courts and get something done, or declare war on the US, or simple shut up and take it as we have over 10% of their population here as illegal invaders already.

I have a solution to the gun problem in Mexico. Impeach Obama and Biden. Replace them with a Republican who is pro-gun and fence in the border. Stop your mules from crossing from Mexico otherwise you’re a willing player in “furnish the cartels”.

Maybe if Mexico wasn’t so willing to let their people cross illegally they wouldn’t be getting guns shipped to their drug bosses by the Obama administration.

Easy fix, Srs. Calderon Y Biden. Build the WALL at the border, stop sales to Mexico, and watch them start buying AK’s from the NORKS or the Chicoms.

What it does show is that even with Fast and Furious being a huge failure, in the way that this administration had plans for it, that they are still beating this drum of more gun control. Truly brazen

“U.S. guns fuel Mexican violence and crime”

Then do something about the ‘Mexican’ violence and crime. It’s not like guns haven’t been around for centuries, and the US is the only source.

I have an idea for a new trade agreement...
Set up a new type of cap and trade industry, this time involving tangible, immediately measurable trades that will ultimately benefit both our nations.
For every illegal Mexican alien found in the USA and returned to Mexico, Mexico will trade an illegal USA gun found in Mexico.
