KINGSPORT, Tenn. -- Republican Newt Gingrich launched a final, two-day swing across the South on Monday in advance of the biggest voting day so far of the year. Gingrich planned to campaign on Monday and Super Tuesday in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia -- and vowed to exceed expectations in all the Southern states voting this week and next.
Gingrich touted new polls showing that he is closing the gap in Tennessee, and he predicted again that he will win his home state of Georgia with ease. In a morning interview on CNN, Gingrich admitted that losing Georgia could end his campaign and acknowledged for the first time that winning Georgia and losing all the other states Tuesday "puts me in a more difficult position."
But, on the other hand, next week we have Mississippi and Alabama and Kansas, and I think I'll win at least two out of three," Gingrich said in the interview. "The latest poll in Tennessee shows a 17-point jump, shows me very competitive in Tennessee."
A centerpiece of Gingrich's latest effort to regain momentum is a promise to bring the price of gasoline below $2.50 a gallon. He mentions the subject wherever he speaks, and it is the subject of a new TV ad the campaign is airing in Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.
An independent group supporting Gingrich is also advertising on TV and radio in those states and several others. Gingrich's hope is to overcome Santorum's lead among conservative voters while Santorum and Romney duke it out in the marquee state of Super Tuesday, Ohio.....

Super Tuesday PING!!!!!!
Go Newt!
I needed to see this today.....as it seems just too dang set that Romney’s going to clench this....thus we’ll get Obama another four years.
This is the first sad day I’ve had about this election so going off line for the afternoon.
Keep it going titan’s ....I know it’s not over yet but I sure hope Newt has something up his sleeve that will change the tragectory it seems today to be going.
Now I’ll leave in my misery and ccome back refreshed for the battle.
hussein soetoro just said he “really” wants romney!
If Newt can just stay viable until the big prize in Texas, on May 29th, we can end up, at best, with Newt winning the nomination or, at least, taking it to Tampa and forcing a Brokered Convention.

There is no path to the nomination after winning one state (your home) on Super Tuesday. Period. End of story.

Why is no one reminding the voters that George Soros said that “there is not that much differnece between Obama and Romney”?
Just listened to a utube video that appears as an endorsement by Sean Hannity and Rush for Newt.

...and the same applies to you too Newt, if you are behind Santorum.
Otherwise it's Mitt's and then Obama’s and one of you will be to blame for the destruction of America.

Particularly if he gets more cash...
A resonable showing today will break loose the wallets and check books...
Spokeshave with pen in hand.....
I am ready to give more too, but I need to see more progress.
Suprised that comment made it past the censors.
There’s no path to the nomination by just winning non binding caucuses, or failing to have to have full slates of delegates in states as important as Ohio either.
Check this out..”No greater voice in this country than Newt Gingrich” by Hannity. You will hear Rush say, “I will vote for Gingrich just to hear him debate Obama”

Go Newt!!!!
Go, Newt, go!
Give ‘em hell Newt.

That is excellent!
FrankR that’s ONE of YOUR BEST.
“Suprised that comment made it past the censors.”
CainConservative is on every Newt thread, dumping dirt, over and over. He was warned by JR but keeps doing it.
Not to mention California on Jun 5th. He'll do very, very well here. Easily 100 of the 169 delegates in play.
HAHA! Did you see that we pinged each other to this only 3 seconds apart? Great minds think alike. :-)
Typical leftist WaPo naysayer anti-Newt spin.
The man made a simple statement of fact, that was not dumping dirty.
Nice!
I’m even MORE SUPRISED that my comment made it past the censors....they must be in a good mood today.
I voted for Newt this morning. What a great feeling!
**
Lucky you. I’m truly almost in tears because I could NOT vote for Newt here in Virginia, due to our establishment facist government here.
But I voted for Ron Paul who truly WOULD be MY second choice. Me and the ONE other voter in the room ... the turnout pitiful, of course.
Damn YOU VIRGINIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I voted around 9:45 or so. I was the only voter there, but I think that most people vote after work.
The GOP should thank Newt for his magnificient accomplishments as Speaker..NOONE comes close!

Great picture! One of my big frustrations in Florida was that we didn’t even have any Newt signs to hold up...I don’t know if the campaign couldn’t afford them, or what. I didn’t see a single one on election day. Meanwhile, Romney and Santorum blanketed the state with their signs. My entire polling place was surrounded by their signs (and a few for Ron Paul), put up during the night.
I think candidates discount the importance of signs, but they actually do give the voters a sort of memory nudge, especially if they’re not very committed voters.
I would be really furious if I lived in VA right now!
Wanna bet?
I had to make up my mind and vote today.
I voted Newt.
In Georgia, from his congressional district so it’s like the 4th or 5th time I voted for him.
I remember the 1st time I voted it was because of Newt, Dem’s put up some cookie guy who they said would beat him, but I showed up and stopped them.
I like it. Thumbs up!
Good bye, troll! GO NEWT!!
Beautiful job, Bikkuri!!
Feeling furious. Feeling oppressed, and very un-free.
I sadly feel this is how we’re ALL going to feel in the coming years if this continues.
It’s a terrible feeling — something very foreign, to be sure.
Our country is ABOUT choice. Sometimes those choices aren’t the best, but we have it. Just as God gives us Free Will — we are free to choose. But someone somewhere has decided to deny this choice to voters. I know they have their “rules” but one would think they could have suspended the rules in this instance.
But they weren’t about to ...especially with “Mr. Establishment Oh, Please Gov. Romney, please pick me, Bobbie McDonnell!” as our governor.
Good bye, troll! GO NEWT!!
Beautiful job, Bikkuri!!
Geesh. Took you guys long enough :)
Nothing feels better then waking up to a good surge in the poll
Sorry hon, I forgot to ping you too XD
Go, Newt!
