See, I Told You So: Chicago Wants Romney

RUSH: For the longest time, I, on this program, incurred the wrath of millions of you by suggesting, because you thought I had chosen sides, I still haven't chosen sides. You thought that I had it in for Romney when I pointed out that -- in my view, based on my instincts, my gut, study, my knowledge of who the left is -- I thought they wanted Romney as the nominee all along. I thought that's what Occupy Wall Street was all about was to set up Romney as the guy they were protesting. Romney is the kind of guy they were protesting. Occupy Wall Street. And, of course, Romneycare. I often thought that's who the Democrats wanted. Another reason I thought that was because many on the left actually said so, and in other ways they indicated it as well by trying to tell us that they thought Romney would be the toughest challenge for them.

Now, when the party of Barack Obama comes along and says, "Yeah, I'll tell you what, you guys, we're really worried about Romney," they wouldn't tell us that if they really believed it, for one thing. But let's go to the audio sound bites. This morning on Joe Scarborough's show, PMSNBC, TIME Magazine senior political analyst Mark Halperin had a discussion about Romney and his USA Today op-ed supporting the individual mandate in health care. Santorum on the campaign trail hammering Romney saying he's wrong on the central issue of our time, Halperin comments about it. You'll hear Scarborough in here, too.

HALPERIN: Can I give you a subsidiary point --

SCARBOROUGH: Yes.

HALPERIN: -- the Republicans should be terrified of? My hunch is that this stuff is coming not belatedly from the Republicans, but from Chicago, from the Obama campaign, which is sitting on more opposition research than you can imagine about Mitt Romney. So they're teasing this out now I think to try to weaken him. But if and when he becomes the nominee, they'll just be sitting in Chicago every day saying, "Let's do this one now and this one next week." So much stuff they're sitting on.

RUSH: Oh, oh, oh, oh, wait. What was that? Did Mark Halperin -- who would know -- did he just say, my hunch is that this stuff is not coming from the Republicans aimed at Romney, but rather from Chicago, the Obama campaign? They're sitting on more opposition research than you can imagine about Romney. That's what Halperin says. When Romney gets the nomination, they're gonna unleash. There is no way Romney will be able to survive it. That's what they are saying now. In fact, here is a guy saying it on the same show, Joe Scarborough, Morning Joe, MSNBC. New York Magazine national affairs editor John Heilemann talking about all of this, said this.

HEILEMANN: Mitt Romney's had this much trouble winning the Republican nomination against rival campaigns. If it's, in truth, coming from Chicago, Chicago has been doing opposition research on Romney for a year-and-a-half. What is going to happen to Mitt Romney when he gets hit with not just like decent opposition research, but the best opposition research that money can buy, having gone through this entire race stumbling without being faced with that kind of opposition research?

SCARBOROUGH: It’s unbelievable.

HEILEMANN: I just think it's unfathomable.

RUSH: Unfathomable what's coming aimed at Romney, from Chicago. They can't wait. Now, I think this is a bit overblown, myself. But I'll tell you this. There are a bunch of stories out today, and they're from credible left-wing sites when you talk about Obama. The story is out that Obama has told members of Congress: I don't have the money to give you for your own campaigns. This isn't 2008. They had money rolling in from all over the world in 2008, folks. Obama had money coming in in denominations under, what is it, 200, 250, that you didn't have to report the donor. If it's less than 200 or 250 you don't have to report the donor. They had money coming in from all over the world. That's not being repeated. They are not going to have a billion dollars, as they have said prior to now. And the Obama campaign has told members of Congress: You're on your own. We do not have the money to share with you for your campaigns. But yet they've got all this money, the best opposition research money can buy to unleash on Mitt Romney.

See my other posts. I think any pubbie would have had a hard time winning in 2008. But in 2012, they won’t have an excuse. Obama now has a sorry record to run against.

The ONLY positive that I can see coming out of a Romney nomination is that all of the GOP-E pinheads who are pushing him will be thoroughly discredited for 2016.

Bingo...

A top to bottom flush of that organization from the National/State/local County/Township/Parish chairs, to the SREC’s, those vying for (winning) the Electoral College positions this cycle...

They’ve been behind the wheel way too long...Tie for them to take a nap in the back...

Did you guys see the Obama press conference today when they asked him about Romney? He could BARELY contain his glee about the prospect of Mitt being the our nominee.

Repo Men (Wall St. bankers and D.C. ruling class, "more than a few of them belong in prison.") http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2826109/posts “So there you have it: hedge-fund titans, i-bankers, congressional nabobs, committee chairmen, senators, swindlers, run-of-the-mill politicos, and a few outright thieves (these categories are not necessarily exclusive) all feeding at the same trough, and most of them betting that Mitt Romney won’t do anything more to stop it than Barack Obama did.

If anything, the fact that Romney is having the least luck with the firm that knows him best speaks better of him than does the enthusiasm he apparently inspires in Goldman Sachs et al.”

The Establishment is scared to death of Newt Gingrich

/The establishment of both parties are afraid of Newt. Newt's failing in his personal life are well known and will not be a factor. Newt has admitted publicly his failures in his past marriage. The left has thrown as much dirt as they can at Newt over the years. They have no more dirt to throw.

The concept of a debate between Newt and Obama scares them greatly.

Bottom line...If we forget about the top job there, and focus on the down ballot races, we might fare better...We can still neuter OPbama enough where he will be in-effective (or as much as possible) in the next 4 years...Then we will eb done with that piece of garbage...That will give Palin, Rubio, and a few other contenders time to get ready an really hit the GOP elites (if ther are any left) square between the eyes...

Because since we have had no luck with what they’ve foisted upon us since Bob Dole, we’ll have a better time kicking what left of their elitist ilk out on a rail...

I’m ready for a House and Senate keeping Obama in check till that time...

That may be the only ting we have left in our bag orf tricks...

Yes, Obama is gearing up to attack Romney, but that’s because Romney will be the nominee (90% chance according to intrade).

http://www.intrade.com/v4/markets/contract/?contractId=652757

if you disagree with that assessment, you can bet against it.
Santorum’s the only guy IMHO who has a chance of beating Romney, and intrade has him at 2.7% odds.

Obama already has his media acolytes ready to attack ANY Republican candidate.
