Just what I want...give my data to someone else to hold and if I need it give it back piece by piece. What a piece of crap!

I think the whole “off site” backup selling point is so you don’t lose everything if your house disappears (fire, flood, quake, etc)
We have another year on our Carbonite account but we will not be renewing...unless they back down.

I am sure Carbonite has good intentions. However, the IRS probably has other ideas. What I do stays on my computer and simple back up.

That's right. USB thumb drive will accommodate all my data on my pc.
I just back up the data files. All the application files are on CD. No big deal.
I get the feeling Carbonite is going to get “Fluked”.

I hote after looking at your link that CARB had stabilized after their 4th quarter profits announcement. Investors appeared to be pretty happy with the announcement, and the $9.50 price. They also have been granted a new patent, and some other good news.
In addition, the “sentiment” indicator now is (still) at “very bullish” for CARB.
The current activity is SOLELY due to their dropping Rush, it seems to me.

You guys are cracking me up!! First with the statement, then the response. Nothing like being around those with humor!

When one speaks to 20 million people a day, like Rush does, one (Rush) has the bully pulpit! People leaving Carbonite in droves. I got Carbonite a couple of years back, based on Rush's recommendation, but I dropped them about a year ago.

Excellent work. I wish I was in the position to make a similar stand.
Next question is, which of the options to say Carbonite are companies with sound conservative values? Anyone know or is being "not Carbonite" or "not Citrix" good enough?

No kidding. 32gig flash is $19 bucks. that’s a ton of storage for your really important stuff. my last 20 years won’t take up half that and I save all kinds of files.
