Rick Santorum is just ahead of Mitt Romney in the Ohio Republican presidential primary with 25% of the vote counted.

All eyes were on Ohio, a traditional bellwether state that could play an important role in deciding the Republican nominee to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama on November 6.

Santorum is leading Romney at 39% to 36%.

There’s a lot of misinformed voters.

There are a lot of misinformed Republicans who believe the Party line.

But on the positive side, a Santorum win (even though he is no different than Romney) throws a major wrench into the media narrative. It is the media narrative that is winning the nomination, not the actual candidates. The key, therefore, is to beat the media narrative.

With Romney out of the way and no longer seen as “inevitable,” we can finally focus on Newt vs Santorum and destroy Santorum’s conservative myth.

A Santorum or a Romney victory in this nomination is a defeat for the country. Both candidates ridicule “Libertarianism”, which is actually their way of ridiculing small-government conservatism. Romney is a simple opportonunist with no core beliefs. Santorum is confused on his core beliefs, and seems to think it is the government’s role to benefit the Family or the “community” over the rights of the individual. He also had no problem smiling and clapping on stage with Specter as he was running for President on a platform that is the exact opposite of everything Santorum supposedly stands for. Santorum ain’t no leader, and I have never seen any big campaign being launched by him for any topic of importance. Not even on abortion.

Santorum has to go. Romney has to go. Only Newt must prevail, or the country is literally lost, and the Tea Party movement that inspired new interest in serious tax and governmental reform will be dead and buried, and in its place we’ll be debating gay marriage as the major issue of the day.

I watched an interview on our local tv news station last night with Romeny in Zanesville, OH. He looked danged stupid in his blue jeans. We all know he’s a suit and tie kind of guy. He isn’t one of us, and Ohioans know it.

It’s still pretty close. I think Newt made a serious mistake attacking Santorum in Ohio. He’d be better off if Romney loses. And it’s still pretty close.

As I noted on another thread, earlier when Romney was ahead, Drudge had a big headline at the top saying that Romney was winning Ohio.

Now that Rick is ahead, the headline says:

OHIO SHOWDOWN:
SANTORUM 38.8%
ROMNEY 35.8%

You can bet it wouldn’t say that if Romney was still ahead. I’m very disappointed in Drudge.

Wait until the big counties start reporting to see how it will go.

"However, Karl Rove, abt 15 min ago, stated that the large urban counties which favor Romney, have barely reported, only absentees so far."

Waiting to see how many they need to come up with to win.

(even though he is no different than Romney)

Peddle that crap elsewhere. Santorum has a 82% ACU rating. Newt has a 86% ACU rating.

Romney doesn't have one, but if he did he'd be somewhere in the Olympia Snowe range.

Plug Newt all you want. I like him too. But don't lie.

Rick copies Newt and is very boring.

How is Rick copying Newt? Rick is actually winning states and seriously contesting the Romney inevitability. Newt on the other hand has SC and his home state under his belt. Not much of a copying job, thankfully. As for boring, did you see Newts speech tonight? ZZZZZZZZZ. The only thing alive on that stage was Calistas jacket color.

Is that really true? Where I come from, the urban areas report results first, he the outlying areas trickle in later.

“But where to move?”

Japan! A political party over there has embraced Cain’s 999 plan, though they are doing 10 10 10 instead. They also might still be somewhat manly over there, and the ladies are great! Once we convert them to Christianity and full-conservatism, they’ll be a great country!

Several areas around Cleveland are very good at holding back results to see how many are needed to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
