If Romney loses Ohio, Gingrich and Santoerum must DEMAND that he withdraw from the race. If six years and sixty million dollars can not deliver THE MUST WIN STATE for a Republican, He has to go!
With NY and CA ahead? Why would he quit when he thinks he can win those enchiladas?
Ronmney won’t quit.
This race is going to be a brokered one.
He still wins the nom. vote for Oboma!
If Gingrich or Santorum stepped out, the other would easily overcome Romney.
'He who wins the Presidency must first win Ohio'.....(or something like that)
I live in CA and I’m voting for Newt, but I can almost guarantee you that Mitt will win CA.
The best solution all things considered is for Rick to swallow hard, cut a deal with Newt for a Newt/Rick ticket. That is the best chance Rick has to eventually become pres.
Why wouldn’t newt cut the deal. Hasn’t Rick won several more primaries than newt?
He’s not going to withdraw. He’ll still have the delegate lead, I think.
Honestly, I think Gingrich or Santorum should drop out and endorse the other. We won’t beat Romney until we coalesce behind one guy. This will probably piss off a few around here ... but I think Gingrich should go. I like him. But, he’s losing to Santorum, and he’s not going to to make up the ground. He’s distant third. Drop out and endorse, and Romney can be beat.

That is not the point. The point is to instill in the medias that Romney is hopelessly wounded. It will cause a huge shudder in the Party Elites
If Santorum wins OH you may very well be correct.
Newt and Rick will get their share, but Romney will prevail.
Is anyone keeping a delegate count going for each candidate? Sure like to know how many have been awarded to each candidate so far.
They will just wait to see how many votes they need to fake to give Ohio to Mittens.
Would LOVE to see that. Will never happen but Romney is terrible. He can not win after YEARS and hundreds of millions. Tonight he is doing well only in states he isn’t on the docket. He couldn’t crack 60% in VA and tanks hard in the South.
Romney will get us SLAUGHTERED in 2012. Maybe tonight will keep us from that disaster.
Santorum 2012
Running tally ... CNN via Drudge.

Romney 208, Santorum 106, Gingrich 77, Paul 52

I’m in CA and agree with your assessment.
It’s like the wierdest western you ever watched.
2 grasshoppers will chew each other’s face off...3 can’t do that, anatomically. Or 4, counting Paul.
Romney can’t spend enough to chew his opponent’s face off, because there is no one opponent. He’s fighting the SoCons and the FisCons, the Paulite-Libertarians and the Evangelical rejecters of Mormonism.
Brokered Convention- here we come!
However, if he doesn't win OH, Romney may very well not reach the magic number of delagates, even if he wins CA and NY.
Sure, at this point Romney has over half the votes and he will just listen and pull out. Dream on.
I think a brokered convention will likely give the nomination to who ever has the most delegates.
Right on, bro. Mitt’s got NOTHING that could beat O. Nothing. It would be an O landslide......
They start dealing in the backrooms for votes and anything can happen.
That's why there's talk of introducing someone else if it's brokered...to try to win the delegates who are digging their heels in.
Those delegate numbers are low when they have to get to 1100+. With those numbers, it looks like the race has just started. Strange year. Convention here we come.
If Santorum wins Ohio, he may only have bragging rights. Ohio is a proportional state, and Santorum may lose 45 delegates right off because certain counties or precincts he didn’t get on their ballot in time, or something like that. Romney may still get a larger share of the delegates in Ohio, even if Santorum wins the popular vote.
To be nominated, a candidate must collect a majority of the total of 2287 delegates.
"Most" won't do it. It has to be a majority.
I think that if Santorum wins OH and ND that could put him ahead.
And Texas is still waiting in the wings with a huge amount of delegates. I don’t think Romney will win Texas, probably Gingrich with Perry’s backing.
I sure hope so. Would it be a Santorum/Gingrich ticket?
What part of BROKERED don’t you understand???
Now re read what you responded to!
in other words Mitt wins eventually
No, I’m pretty sure Romney would not take TX.
CA is winner-take-all?
Here it is.
I think a brokered convention will likely give the nomination to who ever has the most delegates.
Romney will arrive at the convention with the most delegates. You are saying that a brokered convention would award him the nomination simply because he had the most delegates.
Which is incorrect.
Did you mean to say something other than what you wrote?
Does it matter which republican wins California New York or...........Massachusetts?
Romney is the Viagra candidate as was Bob Dole..
Soooo... will the right choose a candidate who has always been about standing in line for 3 hours for a 30 second ride..or will we finally wise up?
Here’s to hoping the GOPee has finally learned how to play Rope-A-Dope!
That's a whole lot of delegates that go a long way toward earning the GOP nomination.
However, if Santorum gets OH, it hinders Romney quite a bit even though he's favored in CA/NY.
Mittens is not walking away with Texas. Ron Paul might.
In my view the swing states matter; has Newt won or come close in any swing states? We need the candidate that does best in those. Chances are the republican will lose California, NY and Massachusetts......if they do it will be a landslide anyway.
should read don’t
you are all high. romney will steal this like any other democrat would. i’m sure they’ll be some last minute voting by some committee or some lost votes or somethin.
No he hasn't.
Newt's best performances have been in GA and SC, but those aren't swing states.
“If six years and sixty million dollars can not deliver THE MUST WIN STATE for a Republican, He has to go!”
Mitt would rather destroy the GOP than quit. He has the money and ego of obama—not to mention the same outlook on many issues.
Your lips to God's ears.
At this point, I really think it is our only chance to send the Kenyan into early retirement.
It sends the message- it is not politics as usual!
We’ll go down fighting, no frog-in-the-pot bullshit.
If we are extinguished, they will remember that we stood and fought.
If we are victorious, they will know why, and will not soon forget...those that remain...
Sharpton, from the church of "she was covered in feces", has a point. Poopy perhaps, but worth considering: the dems want to run against Romney because they feel O'blahblah can beat him. Romney wants to run against O'blameo because he thinks the Feds shouldn't be allowed to impose what he imposed on Massachussettes (sp?) and he would use an executive order to nullify a US statute.
I wish neither were running as patient healthcare is not the problem. The economic health of the country, is.
