ABC BLASPHEMES JESUS WITH NEW SHOW ‘GCB’ (ABC's new show 'GCB' means "Good Christian Bitches")

Boycott ABC. Please read this story below and send it to all your Christian friends and family. We need to ban together and get this disgusting blasphemous TV show off the air.

Some one should inform the liberal secular progressive Christ-haters at ABC that… OUR GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED.

Hey… I wonder what would happen if these liberal secular progressive Christ-haters at ABC made a primetime tv show mocking Muhammad and offending Muslim women? Hmmm. No way. They wouldn’t dare do that, they just attack, mock and defile Christians and our Holy faith. No one else’s. Why? Weird.

I was going to add the ‘GBC’ TV show trailer into this post/story but it was such garbage and so offensive to Christian women I decided not to.

Stand up for Jesus and our holy faith. Combat Christophobia. Legalize Jesus.

Come to Dallas and I’ll show you just how true to life the show is, provided of course that it’s close to the book. Kim Gaitlin is guilty of nothing more than telling the truth about life in Highland Park.

There may be pockets here and there of upper middle class Christian women that God needs to convict of their errors but there are millions of Godly American women that will be slimed by association. Sarah Palin has certainly been slimed in such ways!

Their goal is to slander Christians. Why aren't they doing a story of some of the hateful people on the Huffington Post? They can set your hair on fire. As usual, the media is anti-conservative, anti-christian, anti-life, anti-family values. The biggest danger to obamas re-election is Catholics and Christians. They are making their campaign contribution with this show.

“justifiable stereotypes”

“Justifiable” as in feeling one has the spiritual right to judge such people? People are complicated and the greatest battle one has are tendencies to lump folks into “worldly wisdom” defined categories. Someone wears certain clothing and jewelry and all of a sudden they are a hypocrite, one just “knows” this to be true....I’ve heard it all. Then one takes a second look at such people you describe and you discover loss or a childhood filled with want and abuse. They tend to be quite generous givers, perhaps out of guilt or conviction, though a second look often reveals a wealth of compassion.

As for so-called sexual escapades...such women may or may not have erred in such ways but sinful gossip hounds just cloud the issues and often defame such people unjustly. Some of them are Narcisstic without much self consciousness of how such is evident to those around them, yet it tends to offend those most who are themselves inclined to Narcissm. How much more narcisstic would such women be without God working in them, becomes the question for me. God has a salvation plan tailored for all of us and it sometimes brings each of us thru territories we would never have imagined.

The question becomes in the end, why such women would even still cling to the trappings of Christianity? Yet that question pertains to all of us. None of us dare say we stand lest we fall without the grace of Christ.

“Their goal is to slander Christians.”

Disgusting. We really need to shove this type of “civil discourse” right back in their faces. The only we will win in November is to fight like rabid dims. Look how Kaptur took apart and beat Kucinch yesterday. That is how it is done.

OUR GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED.

God can't be mocked, which is why He is Lord. This is a key difference between the God of Christians and Jews, and the gods of other faiths. Other faiths have to scream and yell (and worse) because their gods are weak.

God is all powerful, and has no weaknesses. Those who try to mock the Lord make fools of themselves, and don't need my help. Only my prayers.

Hypocritical Christians, on the other hand, which is what the show is supposed to be about (as it is based on a book with the same name), can be mocked. It could be argued that they probably should be mocked. From what I've read in the Bible, God does not cotton to hypocrites.

I don't have cable, and don't know anything else about this show apart from what is in the news. It looks stupid, and not worth my time. Prayers, charity, spreading the Good Word, and trying really hard to be a good Christian, instead of saying I'm a good Christian... those I can get on board with.

Not to ignore the rest of your post, but why do you separate Catholic and Christian?

I suspect anyone who makes an argument that ascribes motive to another. It is rarely accurate.

That said, are you familiar with the work in question at all, or are you merely speculating and/or projecting? I, myself, have read the book, which I found to be quite good. People like the characters do exist, and yes, they make for good reading.

Another show by primarily gay writers to portray gays as normal, and heterosexuals as warped.

No, the other justifiable. The one in which a stereotype is considered justified because it is commonly manifested in the group to which it has been ascribed to represent. That justified.

To: Do Not Make Fun Of His Ears

Thanks to your post, I see the problem clearly now. I’ll bet the complaints about this television show/book would be a fraction of a fraction of what they are now if only the title were different. Had it been called Highland Park, with absolutely no changes to the book itself, this drama would be absent.

I went to Catholic school for 12 years and then became an Evangelical Christian. I’d like to call us all Christians, but some Catholics are offended being call a Catholic. I’m just trying to be respectful to Catholics and Christians.

I have not read the book, but the shows are often changed from what was in the book.

Based on the trailers,

************************************************************
Amanda Vaughn appears to be the only sane member of this community, and she doesn’t appear to be a practicing Christian.
************************************************************
When her mother drags her and her children to church, Amanda tells her mother that she “didn’t raise the kids with any particular religion.” While we all know that there are hypocrites in every institution and every religion,

********************************************************************************
GCB uses southern Christian women as the sole, stereotypical examples of self-indulgence, shallowness and hypocrisy.
*******************************************************************************

Other scenes show young girls being encouraged to wear revealing tops. When one mother expresses concern that her
*********************************************************************************
daughter‘s old cheerleader uniform is to tight, Chenoweth’s character tells her not to worry “cleavage helps your cross hang straight.”
*******************************************************************************

Later at the game, the football team cheers when the girl’s vest pops open.

Clearly, this isn’t exactly a message Christian parents would want to send their daughters.

Although the series may prove better than its trailers and name suggest, the fact that

***GCB ridicules God, morality, and Christians, who are little more than stereotypes, raises concerns for both families and Christians.**************

In this light, everyone should remember that ridicule was a tool that Adolph Hitler used to murder 6 million Jews during World War II.

What you’re missing is that this wasn’t directed towards Christians en toto. I can drive you to the Presbetyrian church that Hillside Presby is based on, and it wouldn’t take you more than two visits to realize that the author was on to something. Sunday morning there is really all about bragging rights, and little else. The worst possible sin there is be wearing last seasons shoes. Shoes aside, you’ll see a vast percentage of women there doing anything they possibly can to show off their expensive store bought boobs.

Whether anyone happens to like it or not, Kim Gatlin (married to a Gatlin brother) just wrote about what she saw and experienced here. An experience easily replicated for anyone who has doubts I might add.

Oh and for giggles, you should see the mess when said church opens up it’s afternoon program for children. If your child isn’t in the program (where space is limited) you’re a nobody. A line forms outside the church the night before registration begins, fights break out, the police are often called etc. Everyone from the Dallas Morning News to D Magazine has covered the phenomenon over the years.

See, what you and everyone else who’s so up in arms and offended don’t realize is Gatlin’s book is based on real life. It wasn’t a leftist slam against Christians. This was a budding writer who just happened by virtue of marriage to have stumbled upon a rich field of simply delicious material to write about.

The writer might be just telling her story, but ABC is using her story to make Christians look bad. I never said we should call her and complain. I called ABC to complain.

Oh, give me a break! There are sickos out there who have sex with farm animals, but that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to make the activity into a “simply delicious” TV series on the basis that “it happens in real life”.

You know darn well that Hollywood and the American popular culture despises Christians (and judging by your grossly stereotypical personal anecdotes you don’t seem terribly fond of them yourself), so let’s stop pretending that a TV show with initials that stand for “Good Christian Bitches” is anything other than what it really is... the latest brazen attempt by a bunch of bigoted leftists, atheists, and agnostics to smear and denigrate evangelical Christians on the national stage as a bunch of hypocritical and morally depraved hayseed hicks.
