Transgender illegal immigrants would in some cases receive taxpayer-funded hormone therapy while in federal custody, under new guidelines put out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The transgender provision was one of many in the latest "national detention standards" manual released by ICE. It has already drawn complaints from one Republican congressman, who described it as a "hospitality guideline for illegal immigrants."
The 2011 manual calls for detainees to be screened shortly after their arrival. That screening is supposed to examine everything from dental history to tobacco history to infections -- the last item on the checklist urges officers to ask about a detainee's "gender self-identification and history of transition-related care."
If they are transgender and if they were already receiving hormone therapy before arriving at the detention center, ICE prescribes that they should continue to receive that treatment.
"Transgender detainees who were already receiving hormone therapy when taken into ICE custody shall have continued access. All transgender detainees shall have access to mental health care, and other transgender-related health care and medication based on medical need.
"Treatment shall follow accepted guidelines regarding medically necessary transition-related care," the guidelines state.
ICE defended the provision.

I don’t think this is fair. I think they should give all detainees hormone therapy. That would be a unique enforcement tactic.
Authorities will just ask if they are receiving homone therapy? (Detainees would never lie about something like that!!)

Look, if we let everybody in Mexico know that if they get caught here as illegals and get sent to a detention center they will be forcibly administered sex change drugs, they’d quit coming here.
I believe that Obama is conducting psychological warfare on the citizens with common sense in this country (conservatives).

I ought to be outraged over the misuse of tax dollars from my paycheck, but this is funny in a gross way. Why aren’t Jay Leno and Dave Letterman including this in their stand-up acts?

It's more than just "psychological" warfare. Practically no public figure, comedian, politician, media person, etc will more than lightly skim over what Zero and his gang are doing to us. THey're either cowards, paid off, threatened cowards, or on the same side. What I want to know is when enough of us regular little guys and gals will stand up and stop it, since the Big Important People refuse to.
I think American prisoners already get this in some states. So this a natural progression.
Next it will be offed to captured terrorists.
Maybe Bin Laden who’s computer was full of gay porn just wanted to be a woman and that was the source of all his angst.
