20:56:20 Now I want you to imagine the debate this fall . The president was right the other day. He's so nervous about gasoline prices and energy that he's done two major speeches. I thought today, one of the most shallow and self-serving comments by a president that I've heard in a long time.
He was candid in his press conference. He said, you know Im really worried about higher gas prices because it will make it harder for me to get re-elected. I did not make this up. It's nice to know that the president once again has managed to take the pain of American people and turn into his own personal problem.
20:57:10 Now the fact is I'd love to debate this president because when you read these speeches, they are so deliciously incoherent, they are the perfect case study of liberalism run amuck.
The president says, 'the republicans have three strategies: drilling, drilling drilling.' And I want to say tonight, Mr. President this is one of the rare occasions where I can say you are right. But the president had an alternative to drilling and this is why debating him would be one of those moments where you could sell tickets to charity (applause).
20:58:11 The President said we have to be practical. Drilling wont solve it. And then he offered his practical solution. Anybody here remember what it was? Algae. Algae.
I mean I think this summer as gas prices keep going up, one of our campaign techniques should be to go to gas stations with jar of algae and say to people would you rather have the Gingrich solution of drilling and having more oil or would you like to try to put this in your gas tank. I'm amazed that SNL hasnt

Sweet. Gingrich gets my vote. In any case, my vote will go to the Republican.
Go Newt Go!
I'm surprised our paths haven't crossed yet here on FR. Your login name intrigues me since I was a member back in the early 1960's of an equally evil outfit, the NAACP!
As a naive (idiotic, to be honest) college student, I was a dues-paying, card-carrying member of that racist, thoroughly Marxist scam. Although I regret every cent I paid in dues to the NAACP, it was an eye-opening experience for me since I saw the reality of this radical hate-filled group. I would surmise your experience with the ACLU was not too different from mine?
Fortunately after that brief detour into leftism, I returned to my Conservative roots after transferring to a Christian college. Thereafter, I worked enthusiastically for Barry Goldwater in 1964 and have never faltered in my Christian walk nor my unabashed Conservatism.
The American Civil Liberties Union is a fierce enemy of many civil liberties, it is sad to say.
Amen and thanks for the response. I'll add that I found out firsthand, while in the belly of the beast, that the NAACP is likewise a fierce enemy. It's at war with America values and does nothing whatsoever in terms of actual advancement of colored people. It's only form of advancement is monetary...as it lines the pockets of the thugs at the height of its corrupt power structure.
The NAACP was almost 100% Republican when it counted.
After the Republicans got the Civil Rights Act of 1965 passed, the NAACP was systematically infiltrated by democrat party operatives and completed perverted.
Slavery, Jim Crow, and the KKK were all creations of the democrat party.
It's the same attribute which costs him with the female demographic, 'boorishness,' if you will. He may be right, Zero may deserve it, but it doesn't come off well to a large number of people. That's why the headline is subtly feeding the perception.
I will respectfully disagree with that. The NAACP traces its origins to the Niagara Movement, which included the extreme leftist W.E.B. DuBois, who was close friends with the rightfully-blacklisted Paul Robeson, a recipient of the USSR's International Stalin Prize. DuBois died in disgrace in Ghana but before his death he stated:
CODE> I believe in communism. I mean by communism, a planned way of life in the production of wealth and work designed for building a state whose object is the highest welfare of its people and not merely the profit of a part."
The other founders of the NAACP were a rogue's gallery of anti-American liberals such as Florence Kelley, Henry Moskowitz (a favorite of union goons) and Joel Spingarn.
Sure, people like Spingarn may have had an 'R' next to their names. But he was part of the progressive movement, advocating, at best, a softer form of socialism but still socialism.
I'm sorry but the mere presence of an 'R' doesn't equate to a pro-American brand of true Conservatism. In the past, men like "Fighting Bob" La Follette were in fact Republican but they advocated socialist policies. And to this day, we have Republicans such as Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney and John McCain.
Believe me, I saw the NAACP from the inside and I initially fell for their con game. In fact, while I member the scales fell from my eyes and I realized it certainly wasn't an organization dedicated to Constitutional Conservative, capitalist free market principles or liberty.
I would like to add that the start of my realization of the truth about the NAACP was due to the most un-Christian behavior of my associates in the local branch of which I was a member circa 1961. The dirty jokes were almost tolerable but the immoral, crude behavior toward women was disgusting. Early on, I made the mistake of taking my girlfriend to a meeting and she was appalled by the aggressive lewd advances these so-called advocates for civil rights made to her.
One other snapshot from that era was our local branch's support of unionism in our Right to Work state. One of the speakers actually equated Right to Work with slavery!
Obama desperately needs to mocked.. on a whole range of issues..
I hope this shows that Newt is moving in for the kill and actually executing a strategy he's thought out. Little Barry the narcissist will go nuts when you make fun of him.
If Newt does it consistently, it'll get the whole Barry Brigade to target Newt and no one but Newt. That, in turn, will have both Bishop Romney and Lawyer Rickey playing catchup to try and look like someone Barry is worried about running against but it'll be crystal clear who really gets under Little Barry's skin and can defeat him in November. That might not put Newt in the lead but it would make it clear that a lot of those those who don't support Newt have an agenda other than defeating Barry. And there are a lot of people who are more worried about retaining control of the Vichy Republican party than they are about defeating Barry, that's for sure.
The Bishop Romneycrats think they can take charge of the Vichy party if Romney is the candidate, and others who don't want Romney running the party and think better an easy to control "go along to get along guy" like Lawyer Rickey than a dedicated Conservative like Newt. Right now, it's pretty clear that defeating Barry isn't the primary reason a lot of those not backing Newt are working so hard. They want control of the Vichy party a lot more than they want to defeat Barry. It's business as usual for the Bishop Romney crowd and for a whole lot of the Santorum crowd as well.
the whole thing is: there isn’t enough algae to make this practical...
the environmental weenies will soon start whining about algae being endangered...etc...
Awesome. Go Newt!
