ATLANTA Fed by antagonism toward President Obama, resentment toward changing racial demographics and the economic rift between rich and poor, the number of so-called hate groups and antigovernment organizations in the nation has continued to grow, according to a report released Wednesday by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Gee, who's that guy on the right in this picture, plotting something... with members of the New Black Panther Party, an SPLC-defined "hate group"?...

They seemed to leave the biggest offender off the list.

Then again, the Southern Poverty Pimp Law Center is another Soros front group as well.

One can simply say “liberals” and “muslims” and that pretty much covers >99% of all hate groups.

so are the Crips, the Bloods, Latin Kings, or MS-13 hate groups? Or are they exempt despite all the damage they do to society, based on these criteria?

These criteria are taking us down a slippery slope, into which people with political differences of opinion with the liberal elite will be suspected of fomenting hatred.

You see it already the way some issues are discussed in the MSM.

If you oppose homosexual marriage, you are an anti-gay bigot. Bigots are hateful, so you hate gays.

If you oppose abortion on demand, as espoused by Roe vs. Wade, you hate women.

If you oppose affirmative action, you are a racist, and by definition, hate minorities.

If you oppose illegal immigration, you hate immigrants/minorities.

And so it goes. The way the liberals define terms of debate and the criteria for judging people and situations, honest political debate on the issues of the day is being defined as hatred of people, if you oppose the liberal view on an issue.

First thing I'm gonna do is try to determine what this nutjob group defines as a hate group. After that, I may be able to ignore this entire thread and concentrate on just one --- the SPLC.

Second thing I'm gonna do is try to determine if there's any set of circumstances at all where the general population can justifiably and driven by a sense of absolute duty adopt ideologies [which] demand deep distrust of the federal government.

Then we can have a heart to heart.

"Among the states with the most active hate groups were California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey and New York. "

New Jersey and New York? I suppose it's possible since Al Sharpton has both a radio show and TV show now so that he must be pretty "active".

That’s about it.

It’s amazing that so many people fall for the SPLC hoax. SPLC and Mark Potok declare something to be so (and few people actually review their methodologies), and the next thing you know, it is supposedly the “truth”.

The Occupy movement is not on the list because its participants as a collective do not meet the center’s criteria for an extremist group, he said.

Occupy is the ONLY movement committing crime, violence, and property damage on a regular basis.

SPLC hates anybody that disagrees with their ideas so shouldn’t they be on the list themselves? I am intolerant of intolerant people but do it all alone so I won’t make the “hate group” list. But it isn’t really hate then is it? Just a strong dislike. Maybe they can come up with a “disliker group” listing as well.

This pretty much proves that what is going on here is that the office of The President of the U.S. is officially defining its political opponents as enemies of the state. Pretty scary stuff. There's a hard rain gonna fall.

i’m starting to think that they are coming at this from a viewpoint of hating these groups. Thus, they call the groups “haters,” when really _they’re_ the ones who hate. E.g. they hate anti-abortion groups because the groups are telling them something they don’t want to hear and it makes them feel guilty or something. (?)

Right! This is why they had to come up with ‘hate crimes’ law.

Invent something called ‘hate crime’ so they can use it against anyone
that don’t go along with their views.

One of the criteria for hate groups should be the act of engaging in "lawfare".

Lawfare is the illegitimate use of domestic or international law with the intention of damaging an opponent, winning a public relations victory, financially crippling an opponent, or tying up the opponent's time so that they cannot pursue other ventures such as running for public office.

The verdict on the SPLC?   Guilty!

Has anyone found a list of the 1018 hate groups from last year?

I think we should inundate the Southern Pimp Law Center with demands to be included in the list, even if it's only a "hate Group" of one.
I qualify. I despise my current Federal Government, and I oppose any group with the word "Black" in it; and I resist any demand to fund recreational sex.

Maybe I should start wearing a large yellow (or red?) "H" ?

Gee, who-da-thunk that if you change the definition of "hate" to include disagreeing with Obama's policies, and the fact that he, his regime, his supporters, and his puppet masters have fostered class and racial hatred, it's surprising that the number of "hate groups" has increased...

The SPLC, formerly a civil rights organization that did wonderful work, has become nothing more than a hard-core leftist group, using its former reputation to smear groups that don't toe the leftist line. It's really no different than the ADL or the NAACP, both of which used to do good things, but are now nothing more than leftist front groups used by the left to smear conservatives, as well as raise money for the DNC and other leftist causes.

Hate groups are not “fed by antagonism toward President Obama”, they are led by the Obama in his role as a community organizer promoting a perception of racism as a lever for extortion. The biggest groups of racists in the country are the Democrat Party, ACORN, SEIU, and NOW.
