Ala Ed Assoc poll...Romney 10 pt lead...GOP primary approaches(Myth 31.2, Santo 21.6, Newt 21.2)

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Six days out from Alabama's GOP presidential primary, a new poll shows former Gov. Mitt Romney with a 10 point lead over Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

The poll, conducted by the polling are of the Alabama Education Association, showed Romney with 31.2 percent, Santorum with 21.6 percent and Gingrich with 21.2 percent.

About 20% are undecided in this poll.

Newt makes up 7 points from this poll that has been posted on FR.

I’m for Newt.

Inaccurate info results from comparing and contrasting polls done by two different polling outfits, however.

More accurate to compare the same poll over time.

THere needs to be an established BASE from which to say someone rose or fell from one poll to another.

Different polling outfits do things differently, so, no established BASE exists when you start comparing them.

A new poll has been released Thursday showing how Alabamians may vote in next week's GOP Primary.

The Capital Survey Research Center did a survey of 592 likely voters in Alabama from march 5-7, 2012.

Among the results, 29.9% of voters would pick Mitt Romney, 24.7% of voters pick Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum gets 20.1%, and Ron Paul has 5.6% of those polled, with 19.8% of those polled don't know or had no reply."

The knives are out for Newt attempting to get the reverse band wagon effect.

Whether the poll is new or not wasn’t my question.

I ask if these series of polls are by the same, or by different, polling organizations.

If they are all by different orgs., no way to compare them accurately from one to the next to the next.

If any of them are by the same org. but one is older and one is newer, THERE you can see a true change.

The reason is, polling outfits do their polling differently from one another.

To compare them is like comparing apples to oranges.

I don't know, however some on this thread have questioned that a likely liberal association sponsored the poll or polls making it very suspect.

Yes, we don't know. The last one I posted on this thread shows Newt at about 25% leading Santo in a three way race. These polls are all over the place.

I still say that Newt has the best track to take Alabama in this fluid state race and I believe you do too.
