Bob Dole: Romney Must Answer for Health Care Mandates (critiques field)
ABC The Note ^ | March 8, 2012 | By Matt Negrin

Dole thinks Romney is in a tough spot over his role in crafting the Massachusetts health plan that the White House says was a blueprint for ObamaCare. He called it a liability for Romney but said it wasn’t “fatal.”

“In the first place, you’re dealing with the state level rather than the national level,” Dole said. “And I haven’t gone over the Massachusetts plan, but there are mandates in it. That’s the one thing that Romney has to answer to, about mandates.”

Dole added: “But I think he’s, you know, when he stands up and says, ‘One of the first things I’m going to do is repeal ObamaCare’ — of course the president can’t repeal it. He’s going to start the ball rolling.”

[snip]

....Noting that Gingrich isn’t competing in Kansas, Dole said, “Maybe I helped a little.”

He was referring to a statement he made in January about Gingrich in which he said, “Newt would show up at the campaign headquarters with an empty bucket in his hand — that was a symbol of some sort for him — and I never did know what he was doing or why he was doing it, and I’m not certain he knew either.”

Asked to elaborate on that weird scene, Dole said: “Beats me. He shows up one day and has an empty bucket, and somebody says, ‘Well, it has to do with spending.’ I said, ‘What does the empty bucket have to do with spending?’.....

...Dole, 88, had trouble with his hearing aid at one point during the interview and jokingly asked that we put a disclaimer at the end of this story. So here it is, verbatim per his request:

“The interviewee didn’t know what the questions were.”

Oh shut up Bob, you had your 'turn' in '96 and lost, McCain had his 'turn' in '08 and threw the damn election, now Mitt-Witt is pushing for his 'turn', and we can bet that third time's the charm, because Romney will be pummeled and pulverized by the 'Rats, conservatives will not vote for '0bama Lite', and the Republican Party will go the way of the Whigs if Mitt-Witt is the nominee.

Mitt Romney is Bob Dole, but with more money...

...and a healthcare mandate wrapped around his neck...

...and no military service.

if Obamacare had existed in 1944 Bob Dole would have died because he never would have had access to penicillin.

“Even Bob Dole thinks this Romney’s awfully liberal,” Dole said.

Wasn’t Dole ready and willing to cave in to the clintons in giving them half of what they wanted in hillarycare? Including the mandate?

Bob Dole already endorsed Mitt, and condemned Newt. Obviously, Bob think Mitt has the perfect defense for Romneycare, Bob Dole just wants Mitt to tell us his defense. Maybe Bob Dole will defend Mitt on Romneycare.

Give Bob Dole a break. He’s just on a certain type of medicine as explained below:

Courtesy of the GW Law Revue.

“Premature Participation is a condition that makes you think you’re ready when in fact you’re not.

DOLE “Bob Dole could have creamed Al Gore in the 2000 Presidential Election, but Bob Dole Suffers from Premature Participation”

But now there’s hope with a new drug: ARGUALIS

“It helps you argue at length on any topic whether you know what you’re talking about or not.”

Side Effects Include:
Diahreeah of the Mouth
Delusions of Grandeur
Necessity to Constantly Hear One’s Voice

“In rare cases a situation known as Gunners Disease can develop. While there is no known cure, it can be treated through a healthy dose of public shunning and humiliation”

Time and past time.

Bob Dole is funny.

All he can find wrong with Mitt Romney’s record is RomneyCare.

While I agree that is a big rotten problem with Romney’s Record, Romney also has the following lousy, stinking problems in his record:

1. Support for Gay Marriage.
2. Support for Gay Adoption.
3. Support for Global Warming.
4. Support for TARP.
5. Implemented an “Assault Weapons Ban” at the state level.

I guess Dole didn’t think about this when he jumped into the fray on Bloody Thursday and helped pummel Newt.
