Skip to comments.Vetting Obama: Leftists Take Steps To Prevent You From Learning Anything
Posted on 03/09/2012 6:18:29 AM PST by Kaslin
In partial fulfillment of Andrew Breitbart's promise to "vet" the President this time, the Breitbart.com team posted a video of President Barack Obama as a law student at Harvard. It also ran on Hannity tonight. The video shows the young Obama asking his fellow law students to "Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell."
Professor Derrick Bell, the object of young Obama's adoration, was an associate of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and a committed radical. Bell was a proponent of Critical Race Theory, which views virtually all relationships through a lens of perceived race-based oppression.
As Ben Shapiro wrote on Breitbart.com about Bell:
"This is a close associate of Jeremiah Wright, a man who was quoted by Jeremiah Wright regularly. This is a man who posited that the civil rights movement was too moderate because it accepted the status quo, and believed that the entire legal and constitutional system had to be transformed in radical fashion. This is a man so extreme that, as weve reported, he wrote a story in 1993 in which he posited that white Americans would sell black Americans into slavery to aliens to relieve the national debt, and that Jews would go along with it."
(That story became a video, complete with former President Ronald Reagan as the slave trading alien.)
An edited version of the video - minus the section in which Obama heaps praise on Professor Bell - was posted earlier on the BuzzFeed.com. Leftists and Obama apologists dismissed the video as inconsequential and racist. Eric Boehlert of Media Matters for America tweeted:
"look @mmfa has been saying this for 2+ yrs: the Breitbart crew = complete clowns. tonight more 'n more pple are figuring that out; #good"
Boehlert can't argue with the video's content; after all, it documents actual events. Instead, he resorts to the standard Alinsky tactic of ridiculing the messenger. He doesn't begin to address whether Obama's association with Bell should have been revealed before the 2008 election.
Shapiro reports what Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree, a close associate to the Obama campaign, had to say about hiding the tape during the 2008 campaign: "We hid this throughout the 2008 campaign. I dont care if they find it now."
Isn't watchdog Boehlert curious about why a tape would be hidden by the campaign? Exactly what does interest a Senior Fellow at Media Matters for America?
The liberal website HyperVocal.com couldn't wait to recycle the Racer script. Slade Shomer, whose column is predictably entitled 'What's the Right-Wing End Game of This 'Racist Obama' College Days Video?' lacks even the slightest curiosity about Obama's association with Bell and why the '08 Obama campaign wanted it hidden. Instead, keeping with true intellectually dishonest tradition, Shomer plays the race card: (emphasis mine)
While everyone fights this out in partisan terms via Twitter and their websites, well instead ask a more pragmatic question: What is the end game here? Lets even say theres more footage that shows Obama standing there in a shirt that reads Kill Whitey. Lets say he professes his deep hatred of Caucasians and says Jeremiah Wright didnt go far enough. What then? Hasnt this man been President of the United States for more than three years and white people as we know them are still hangin around?
What was Breitbart, and now (editor-in-chief Joel) Pollak and Shapiro, trying to prove exactly? How does digging up 20-year-old video change anything? Theres only one goal here, and thats to stoke white fear. Its almost as if the people promoting a damning video and the people who want to believe it most are legitimately scared that a racist, classist Barack H. Obama will wipe white people off the map in his second term.
Certainly we all acknowledge that class warfare is a major component of Obama's re-election campaign strategy. It's not scary, just dishonest and destructive. But how does the release of this video stoke white fear? The assertion is as ludicrous as it is ignorant (assuming Mr. Shomer actually believes his bizarre allegations).
Try as they might, the video is out and the conversation is being had. Just exactly what do we know about President Obama? Does this video change our minds about him leading up to Election Day? If there is one video, are there others? Who is Derrick Bell, and what do we know about him?
These are just some of the legitimate questions that Eric Boehlert and Shomer, and their fellow Leftists and Apologists, will never ask, and would prefer you didn't either.
Critical Race Theory is an offshoot of neo-Marxist Critical Theory. At one point, Obama was clearly enamored with or at least thinking about this bravo sierra on some basis. Now, that's not to say he's still an advocate of it; maybe it was a youthful dalliance when he was younger, something he could afford. Big deal. But how does it inform what he believes now?
Did he transform into an American Fabian?
The thing that cannot be avoided is that Obama's past is peppered with some interesting people.

I mean, sh*t . . .
IMO opentalk covers that quite well on this other thread at reply @#24 about picking Judges.
Shoot, I'm more and more convinced they could have a video of Obama in bed with a live boy or a dead girl and it still wouldn't faze the drones.
We are sooo screwed.
From the article...
As articles editor for the Harvard Law Review in 1985 Kagan helped shepherd into print a racially noxious story by a radical law professor and architect of Critical Race Studies, which is essentially “blame whitey” in legal vernacular.
This was no literary fiction. It was the kind of story that would never get past Tina Brown at the New Yorker. What Derrick Bell, the author, was doing, observes legal scholar Arthur Austin, was “making broadside comments on the tyranny of white people.”
Austin, in an article, ranked Bell’s fable one of the top 10 politically correct law review articles of all time.
Bell’s fiction was a way to circumvent law review standards. He made outlandish statements through a fictional alter-ego, modeled after a six foot three black woman in Portland, Oregon that would have been impossible to sustain with the logic and evidence required in a non-fiction piece. The goal was to access a readership that otherwise would not have countenanced such hateful notions.
“What the hell was that doing in a law review article?” asked Professor Austin in an interview with JewishWorldReview.com yesterday. “Bell would publish these things in legal journals that had nothing to do with the law.”
Kagan was his enabler. She helped get something published that turned on all kinds of noxious sentiments about society and a relativistic view of the law.

I am not sure that this video is the story at all. Think of this as a trailer .... (maybe).
Here’s Olgiltries e-mail address FReepers, you know what to do!
We need a veterinarian to vet 0b0z0.
Michael Savage said yesterday on his program that the video was a non-issue.
I have to admit that I was expecting much more of a “blockbuster”. If this is all there is, it’s not nearly enough to sink Obummer.
I’m thinking there’s more, and it will be revealed at the appropriate time.
That jackass on CNN kept saying, in effect, “what are you afraid of, whitey?”
Well, name one policy of 0bama’s that didn’t use the power of the federal government to take from taxpayers to funnel to his preferred (race based) groups.
If we would be appalled at putting a anti-black racist in the position of presidency, why shouldn’t we be equally appalled at putting an anti-white racist in as president?
Also interesting -current Supreme court Judge Kagan...In 1985 helped Bell get his radical writings about blame whitey published at Harvard Law
You're talking about the reply by Pan_Yans Wife @45.
And yet another fact is largely overlooked. Collectivist Egalitarianism Sabotages Human Potential. Those misled by the tactics of envy to demand entitlements, never in the long-run actually benefit from the programs (or apples) they seek.
Obama's actual message is, and has been since his college days, as old as Genesis & as hopelessly flawed as that which has been misleading the wishful thinking throughout human history.
Of course, the fact that even at 20, Obama had already embraced the message of hatred against the American mainstream, certainly ought to wake some people up.
“transformation” = revolution, Obama is not honest enough to say the word, but he is a Communist revolutionary taking the USA by stealth.
Aren’t all Obamster’s people half cast, gay or lesbian?
