I am in the market for beds.
I don't think I'm hard on a bed, but never mind how much I've spent to buy the best, or their guarantee, in 3 years, the matress is shot.
I WAS considering a Sleep Number bed, but forget that now.
Anybody have any recommendations?

(Reagan and Sarah are right- WE win, they lose!)
“Sleep Number Competitors” is a frequent search string on Bing! :-) I found http://www.dreamnumberbeds.com/
that way. We have had select comfort beds for almost ten years now. Now that their patent has run out, we would look to other manufacturers.

Maybe I missed something but what does a “Sleep Number” bed have to do with a mattress company called “Sleep Train”?
Go with latex foam. Absolutely the most comfortable and never wear out. Plus they are supposed to be good for allergy sufferers.

That's not very long for a quality mattress. Are you dating Sandra Fluke?

Indeed I have a recommendation for you!
Get a Spa Sensations 12" Theratouch Memory Foam Mattress at Walmart The link is here.
After a lot of research, we got one and love it! We already bought 2 of their 8 inch units for our daughters a few years ago,
Many, many positive posts about this product. I am not associated with the manufacturer or Walmart in any way - just a very satisfied customer.
