SPOKESPERSON FLUKE: “When I have a REALLY big train to pull, I rely on the durability and comfort of Sleep Train products!”

(Google “pull a train slang”)

Re: They are sleep number beds.

No, they're not. Sleep Train is a mattress retailer with stores in California. According to the web site they carry Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Serta, Simmons, and Stearns and Foster. I don't see "Sleep Number" in that list.

>>No, they’re not<<

I’m so sorry, I was totally mistaken.
My mistake.

I’m with you, I never heard “Sleep Train” advertised.

“Sleep Train”
Wasn’t that the name of a Cat Stevens song???

That was “Peace Train.”

Sounds like Sleep Train made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.

Sleep Number showed their true colors last week. They are more accurately “take a number.”

How Rush Limbaugh Handled Compromising Advertiser Sleep Train

Sleep TrainYou’ve heard how a number of big-name and long-time advertisers jumped ship after Rush Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke. It’s their right to do so. We still live in a free country. We’re now learning that one of the advertisers wants back in Rush Limbaugh’s good graces.

Sleep Train, “the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region,” as they describe themselves, wants to advertise again. Sleep Train was afraid of the liberal bullies and paid them the lunch money they demanded. Once you give into a bully, you’re always at their mercy. This is a lesson for your children to learn.

While I am not one for burning bridges, sometimes it’s necessary to do so for three reasons. First, no one likes a coward in the middle of a fight. Second, it lets others know that loyalty counts for something. Third, it shows the opposition that we can’t be bought.

Here was the response to Sleep Train’s request:

“Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show. Rush received your requests personally.

“Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh’s character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.

“Rush appreciates your long friendship and your past support, and we wish you good luck in the future.”

This type of response sends a message. There is no neutrality. We are in an ideological war that will determine the fate of our nation. No one can sit on the sidelines, even people who sell mattresses.

While we’re not at the stage Germany was in during the 1930s, and fascism is showing a different face, the stakes are just as high. Who will you do business with? That’s the question.

Right now, it seems like a small thing for a company to pull its ads from a radio talk show, but we are in desperate times. The day may come when Sleep Train may not be able to do business as usual because of draconian laws that are in the Obama pipeline.

Sleep Train and the other companies that dropped Rush need to get on board the right train, because their freedoms are about to leave the station.
