New Blacklist: Meatloaf 'Banned' For Being Republican
Breitbart ^ | 3/9/12 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/09/2012 1:05:17 PM PST by Nachum

Those of us who understand how the New Blacklist works aren't at all surprised to hear Meatloaf's claim that after being outed as a Republican he now has fewer media outlets interested in helping him to promote his work.

But it's the reaction of the Esquire writer that's most interesting:

MEATLOAF: I'm not dealing with those subjects. Hell in a Handbasket is not dealing with the political nature of the country. It's dealing with the humanity and the compassion of the world. I can give you an example — I've been banned from two TV shows.

ESQUIRE: For what?

ML: Because USA Today has me listed as a Republican.

ESQ: And the shows don't want Republican guests?

ML: Yeah. I've heard those stories, but I didn't really believe they'd do that.

ESQ: So the real issue you're getting at on the album is a lack of humanity and compassion in the world?

Ironically, it’s Conservatives that stand up for Speech more so than the Left.

Why doesn’t one conservative own a cable channel?

I’d watch it.

We’re long overdue to start setting up Conservative entertainment & news networks, movies, and educational systems (essentially anything cultural). The left engages in the kinds of practices they accused (falsely) of Sen. McCarthy for over a half-century of vast discrimination and exclusion of those that don’t share their ultra-leftist inclinations. It’s not a secret conspiracy, either, it’s open and standard practice.

I work here in L.A and there’s a couple. But I damn won’t list them all to avoid the idiot DU troll who just comes looking. The reason why we successfully win in the shadows is because we keep our mouths shut and that’s the point of the article. If you are labeled a Pubbie’, you are done for.

STOP RIGHT THERE,
I GOTTA KNOW RIGHT NOW
BEFORE YOU VOTE FOR ROMNEY DO WANNA
BE KICKED OF THE FR FOREVER

Not saying I’m a supporter, just trying to be cute. I received a shot across the bow from JimRob himself once about Romney, the funny thing is, if he’s the nominee, then JimRob is going to have to can 3/4 of his membership since we’re set on getting Obama out of office no matter who is the nominee.

This may be my last post as I might receive my final ZOT and be banished, like A BAT OUT OF HELL ...

I’ve always liked Meatloaf’s music. Time to buy his latest CD.

If 3/4ths of FReepers would seriously vote for Socialist Slick Willard, this isn’t much of a Conservative site.

Don’t you think you might be praying for the end of time if Willard gets in there?

I attended a “Friends of Abe” event in CA two years ago, courtesy of Nick Searcy (the head of the U.S. Marshall’s office in “Justified”). During the event, one of the hosts (I think this was Gary Sinese) asked “all the producers to stand up.” About 40 stood up. Then he asked all the directors to stand. About 100 conservative directors stood up. Then he asked all the actors and actresses. About 800 people stood. (There were 1300 at the event). So Hollywood has a LOT of conservatives, but they live in the shadows because they can lose their livelihoods.
