I watched some episodes of his (short lived) TV series. Thought it was pretty funny until.....I saw the episode where he suggested that pedophiles be allowed to return abducted children (after y’know) free of consequences. Will never watch anything that a$$hole does again.

Honestly, I couldn’t tell one way or the other. But I do know that one of the last frontiers in the “Culture Wars” will be the normalization of pedophiles. How will that happen? Maybe it will start with ambiguous jokes from edgy commedians suggesting that we forgive pedophiles their sins? Think about it.

Sorry, there are some things you did “kid” about. That is one of them.
For me, watching his show, it's obvious he is a very insecure and fearful guy who isn't afraid to show that side of himself. He has two daughters and I think it was his attempt to deal with his own fears about his daughters. It was very awkward and not funny, admittedly. By I think that's where he is coming from and I give a mild pass for it.
Google Louis CK. That isn’t his only pedophile joke—there’s a few of ‘em. Whatever his motivation, there does appear to be a motivation of some kind. But, from a psychological perspective, when you get people to laugh at something, that is the first step to making it okay.
