1. Karl Christian Rove was born on Christmas Day 1950 in Denver. His family moved a lot until settling in Salt Lake City. Rove's parents divorced when his stepfather, whom he considered his father, came out as gay. Rove would meet his biological father 20 years later.

Also his second wife that he divorced (Darby Rove) was a breast cancer survivor.

Might provide some background on the roots of his ugly misogyny and as well as his support for Romney...

6. Rove’s first marriage—to a Houston socialite—ended in divorce a year after they were married. Rove remarried in 1986 to Darby Hickson, and they have one son, Andrew. Darby Rove is a breast cancer survivor.

And what is the purpose of revealing this now?

I take it the rank-and-file conservative is supposed to either ‘understand’ Rove’s behavior now (resulting in diminished resistance to the GOPe), or find him even more repulsive than he already is, thereby triggering an all out war within the Republican Party.

Which is it US snooze?

The internal war is a given. The only question is when it comes out into the open.

The vetting of Karl Rove. I love it.

Karl Rove is the political genius behind compassionate conservatism. For that sin, he should live in sackcloth and ashes on an inhabited Mediterranean island and never be heard from again.

Karl Rove is the political genius behind compassionate conservatism. For that unforgivable sin, he should live in sackcloth and ashes on an uninhabited Mediterranean island and never be heard from again.

I didn’t know the part about him being raised by a gay stepfather before, nor that his 2nd ex Darby was a breast cancer survivor.

A wonderfully objective report:

“Rove has been involved in the latest White House scandals—the leaking of CIA covert agent Valerie Plame’s name to the press and the firing of seven U.S. attorneys.”

Richard Armitage leaked Valerie Plame (to the extent that it was a leak at all), and when Bill Clinton fired *all* the sitting US attorneys, somehow that wasn’t a scandal.

I’ve got no special fondness for Rove, but the accusation above is a load of manure.

Its true Rove is manipulating a penis but I had hoped it was his own..
The thought of him flagellating someone else’s is a disturbing concept..

Once you think that its hard to unthink it..

It’s from 2007. There’s no reason to drag this up now.

Oh, I see what his problem is, he’s been trying to prove himself worthy of the right social set ever since his little trophy deb ticket to the bigtime dumped him way back when. Absolutely groveling. He never did make it though, he was just tolerated so long as he made himself useful.

I think he secretly hates brown people, myself. And it’s deeply internalized, that’s why he threw such a hissy over conservatives protesting illegal immigration. His aspirational group approved, those shining Rinos on a hill, so he dutifully marched in lock step, but it was eating away at him all along.

That explains the weird, self-defeating and inappropriate responses and going on the attack, he was projecting.

I wonder if he inherited his seething rage against Sarah Palin from his gay stepfather.

There actually is a sort of vampire and cross litmus test thing going on, isn’t there? What a conflicted individual he appears to be. The bloom’s certainly off the turd blossom.

Weird that they left that out, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have interpreted the article to say they were still married.

It does provide insight into Rove’s deep-seeded anger issues, his harsh misogyny and his affinity with homosexuals in the RNC and GOP-e.
