Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, speaking to a crowd in Gulfport, Miss., on Friday teed off on a new ABC show called "GCB," which is based on the novel "Good Christian B*******.
"Here's to show you the biases of the elite media, look at the new show that's on that has the word 'Christian' in it and I want you to take the exact name, drop out Christian and put in Muslim, Gingrich said. And ask yourself, is there any network that would have dared to run a show like that and you know the answer is not a one because anti-Christian bigotry is just fine in the entertainment industry but they have to be very protective of Islam."

I’d love to see the girlymen at abc develop the testicular fortitude to come up with a show called Good Muslim B******. Unfortunately, Hollywood isn’t known for its courage. That’s why they have so many liberal “awards” shows.
They know the jihadists would cut their heads off. But they make a mockery of Christians and Christianity whenever and wherever they can.
I watched the season premier of GCB, and was fairly disgusted by it. It should appeal to the lowest common denominator of those who have not yet found God.
Glad to see Newt continue to stand up and be heard.
Nor can we expect anything but a resounding silence from the Moslem Community over the slander and defamation heaped on Christianity.
This shows the utter dishonesty of the left. They preach (loudly!) tolerance, the evil of divisivness, the duty not to offend and they don’t say a peep (they even create) a show whose title was selected solely to offend Christians. I’m sure the content of the show is no better. Nobody on the left makes even an attempt to live up to their own standards.
Once again Newt hits a home run. What’s his batting average now? .367? Ty Cobb, you are now history!
And if Santorum had made the same argument, how would this read?
Funny you said that because I emailed this letter to ABC:
You might think it is ok or even funny to diss Christians with this show. I think it is sick.
Christians are very tolerant but I draw the line here...
You would never air a show called “Good Muslim Bitches or Good Jewish Bitches or Good Lesbian Bitches or even Good Black Bitches”
because it would be wrong to do so, so why do you think you can do it with Christians?
I suggest you take the show down and apologize or lose viewers and hopefully advertisers as they will be contacted next!
>> Good Muslim B******
Actually, the appropriate title is “Good Disney Bitches”.
Seriously, think about all the backroom hostility that exists among the Disney princesses.
See #14 for the relevant title.
Or if they had a show called Good Jewish B******. ABC would be call antisemitic from now until eternity. In fact, it would never be allowed to air.
I have to admit I watched the premier based on the local reviewers “it’s not anti-christian” insistence. Bad show. The “Christianity” was so forced it was either that they had all these lines they wanted to put in and no plot or it was a cheesy side show after thought. And the people of Dallas must feel so proud about they way they are portrayed.
What bugged me the most was that women in their 40’s are portrayed as haven’t gotten over crap that happened in high school to the point that they feel the need to sabotage an old enemy who is at a low point. That’s nutty and not in a humorous or fun way. I saw it, didn’t like it, and won’t watch again.
In my book, a home run! That's why I like Rick Santorum. When it comes to the social issues, he has got it. His only problem is how he communicates it. sometimes he gets tripped up on his own wording, even though you and me know what he is trying to say.
This is from a recent, (Feb.28,2012) Newsbusters.org article;Via Don Surber, we learn the London Daily Mail reported that BBC director-general Mark Thompson said that mockery of Christianity on British television was acceptable because Christianity was "an established part of our cultural-built landscape" which meant it was "a pretty broad-shouldered religion." Further into the interview comes this gem; "Mr Thompson said: Without question, I complain in the strongest possible terms, is different from, I complain in the strongest possible terms and I am loading my AK-47 as I write. This definitely raises the stakes."
I cannot help but wonder what is in the water in Hollywood or alternately if the mind-set that leads people to the entertainment industry is innately liberal and secular. I rather suspect that if Walt Disney were still alive, this suggestion for a series would never have crossed the transom!
I suspect that if Walt was still alive, the person who suggested this farce would pass THROUGH the transom on his trajectory out of the company, with the imprint of Walt's foot embossed deeply into his ass.
You should have suggested “GMP” or “Good Moslem Pedophiles.”
