Compton City Councilwoman Janna Zurita owes her Hispanic last name to a grandmother from Spain, whom she never met. Zurita considers her mother black and said her father “wants to be black” even though he “looks Latino.”

Armed with 2010 census data, a network of attorneys is increasingly targeting local governments – from cities and school boards to hospital and community college districts – for not reflecting the demographics of their constituents.

While the dispute in Compton, where Zurita’s race was under question, pitted Latino residents against the city’s traditionally black leadership, other cases seek to increase minority representation on elected boards that are dominated by whites.

And for this we celebrate Martin Luther King Day?

What happened to content of character? You mean these po’ hapless souls aren’t good enough to make it on their own?

Hell, their neighbors voted for them.

“What happened to content of character?”

Isn’t it obvious by now? They didn’t mean it. It was just a sucker line for whites who have allowed themselves to feel guilty for things they never did to benefit people who never suffered them.

Ok, I just want to know here which minority trumps which monority? Is Black more important than Hispanic? How about female vs Black? I just can’t keep it straight! Lucky I am not in charge of hiring anyone or I might get sued!

They can’t do this with elected positions - legally, anyway.

Solution - forcibly separate everyone by demographics. Give each demographic the same amopunt of land/infrastructure/raw materials, etc. Give it 10 years and take a look at the condition of each demographic. Whichever one has done the best enslaves the others as inferior and we get on with it.

One of my Latino acquaintances actually told me that story that the Bush family lived in that area. There’s a reason why a lot of Amazon and Ebay-concentrated business moving there is because of the low tax rates. It’s a well-known myth that despite the gangbanger image of the city, it is mostly a warehouse city.

On one of the football bulletin boards that I frequent, someone from the Seattle area asked for recommendations as to where to stay on a visit to Southern California. I recommended a community with good freeway connections, less than an hour from downtown LA, the beaches of Orange County, and LAX. Although centrally located in a big metropolitan area, the community remains a charming and quaint little town which even has its own college, with a state university only about a mile outside the city limits. The name of this community? Compton.
