Efforts to silence Rush Limbaugh are apparently having a significant impact on the talk radio business as a whole, including syndicated radio shows hosted by Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck.
After provocative comments made about a female Georgetown law school student, Limbaugh's show has been targeted by liberal groups that have pressured more than two dozen advertisers to drop his program from their ad buys.
Now, Rush's syndicator, Premiere Networks, is losing advertisers for other conservative programs it airs.
According to an internal Premiere memorandum obtained by Radio-Info.com, the company says 98 advertisers no longer wanted to air ad spots on any "offensive or controversial" talk programs.
Radio-Info says the list of advertisers include "carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm) and restaurants (McDonald’s, Subway)."

IF we’re sliding back into a recession (I think we are, Europe is already back in recession) the former advertiser’s dropoff in sales will have an interesting effect in a lot of boardrooms.
This is not a first admendment issue. That only protects people from government independance. No one from the U.S. government has attemped to stop Rush from speaking his mind. He can talk about anything he wants. This is just people that don’t want to do business with him at this time. You are allowed to not do business with someone that you don’t like, as these businesses are doing. This is just the free market at work.
Newflash for the Liberals: You get those guys taken off the air, 50-60% of the talk radio stations will go to music formats.

I’m with you. I have always driven Ford because it made feel good as an American. But, if this the blowback then I will print out the list so as I go through my day I will have a reminder of these companies who are leftist frauds.
