Pravda asks: What happened to American media?

Its a twist of irony: The Russian news website Pravda has published an accusation that the American media is tame, afraid to publish news and is deliberately hiding the evidence published on the internet about [President Obama's] defrauding of the American public and the deliberate evisceration of the Constitution of the United States.
In a March 7 Pravda column, Arizona sheriff finds Obama presidential qualifications forged, Dianna Cotter, a senior at American Military University, blasts Americas mainstream media for their virtual silence about Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaios six-month investigation into the controversy surrounding Obamas birth certificate and his constitutional eligibility for office.
A singularly remarkable event has taken place in the United States of America, Cotter wrote. This event occurred in Arizona on March 1st and was an earth shattering revelation.
Yet, in the five days since [Arpaio's] revelations there has been little in the way of serious reporting on the findings he presented in his presser. With 6 short videos, the Sheriff and his team presented a devastating case, one the tame US press is apparently unable to report.
Cotter recalls Obama April 27, 2011, press conference in which he walked into the White House Press room with a Cheshire cat like grin and a Long Form Birth Certificate from the State of Hawaii in hand.
Speaking from the podium, Obama declared, Were not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.

Cool!
Since we have only the foreign - - particlularly the British - - news sources to look to for real news and investigative journalism, it’s good to add Pravda to the mix, at least for having the guts to publish a column like this one. ..A column you will not see in the United States.

Based upon what I’ve read from them lately, they have a LOT more unbiased credibility than the LSM in America, or in a lot of countries. Sad to say that, but some of their writers are very good. We have one - Danae (aka Diana) - here on FR. And she’s well-worth reading.

You have the right of it, Johnny. The Russians started all this, and Pravda's coverage of the exposure of
our current situation is more of a taunt about their success with our ruination than a serious "news" story.
They're crowing about our downfall, and our dumbed-down youth of the occupotty ilk don't have the
brains to realize it, having been "educated" by propagandized, marxist morons themselves.
So long as we continue to allow our public schools, colleges, and universities to continue this circle jerk,
they will continue to pump out America haters who will not see what they have done until it is too late.

Obama and the DNC have made American media
LESS TRUTHFUL than the PRAVDA of the Soviet Union.
RNME and the MSM have no shame and no truth.

Obama was elected to loot the US Treasury...and the loot was spread far, wide and deep into every nook and cranny of the country, up and down both sides of the aisle, throughout the legislative and judicial branches in the Federal, and many states governments. The media were long ago recruited as an accessory.

Well, who would have thought the US would elect a crypto-Marxist as President?
And what you say of the old communist countries is literally true. China has a lower corporate tax rate, a lower personal tax rate and less regulation than the US. Just don’t criticize the CCP’s monopoly on state power or try to start up a church without bureaucratic approval.
Freedom of speech and freedom of religion are about the only aspects of liberty where the US remains number one, but the Obama Administration is working on it.

I sent my congressman an email about the SS registration. He sent it to the head of Selective Service in Arlington VA. (No doubt it was then forwarded to the IRS. If they do a review of my Taxes they will find that they owe me money, so I may get a check out of this!)
At Arlington they say they have reviewed all documents, and Obamas documents are in order. I don't believe a word they say anymore.

The focus of criticism on US MSM is misdirected. Sure, the MSM basically serves as a press agency for the ruling elite, and its opinions and biases are those of the ruling elite.
However, with the exception of PBS/NPR, the MSM is comprised of profit-seeking enterprises. They serve mass markets, and their product offering targets the least common denominator of their market. If there were a profit-generating level of market demand for serious journalism, one of the competing outlets would supply it. That’s how Fox News got started, though its quality fell fairly rapidly to match the least common denominator of its conservative viewers.
The utter lameness of the MSM is an effect, not a cause of American problems. Criticism should be focused upon an educational system that has already strangled honest intellectual curiosity and indoctrinated young Americans to regard the State as the source of their sufficiency and strength.

Who among us who lived through the Cold War would have ever thought former Iron Curtain countries, even China almost, would have freer enterprise and a more business-friendly tax structure than the U.S. of A?
I hate to sound like a broken record but back in 1983 just after KAL-007 was shot down by the Soviets and I was just starting 11th grade, I asked this question for "craps and giggles."
"What if in the future, the USSR became the US and the US became the USSR? Also, what if WE, the United States, ever became the 'Evil Empire?'" I got a few weird looks but you know what, i think I'm seeing the answer to my question playing out. I know Russia ain't perfect in the freedom department, but in many ways, they are freer than us now. You can worship as you like, they have a flat tax and IIRC, you can buy fully automatic weapons.
Some time ago, I posted this and another Freeper replied, "I asked the same question too, just after Sputnik was launched."

want to know what is really going on in the US? Look to pravda and al jezeera
Crap, once you sort out the chaff, even Radio Habana Cuba does a bett3er job. I am an amateur radio operator and I listen to shortwave radio. They say that if you have a shortwave radio, that is one sign "you're a right-wing extremist." Well, right now, I have three shortwave radios in reach, I guess I'm on somebody's list. B-)

Theyre gleefully flipping us off. After all those years as a communist swamp, listening to us tell them about our freedom of the press, now theyre getting to point out the obvious flaws with the partisan media over here. Communism aside, the Russians have their pride, and theyre happy to point out how the Cold War winners are collapsing - just like they did not such a long time ago.
True, the Russians always had pride in their homeland, I'm part Russian myself and I remember my grandmother always thought of Russia itself favorably although she didn't like the Communists or the Cossacks before that because she's have Jewish and her mother had villages burned out from under her. Still unfortunately, most my family did fight for the Communists, according to family story (I need to verify this somehow if I ever can so take it as you will), my great, great grandfather became a general in the Red Army and even knew Lenin personally and took orders from him. He told his son, my great grandfather, "get out of here, you don't want involved in this" so that is how he came to America.
The collapse of the USSR was a weird event for me. One day I walked into the Cascades with the Soviets there, big and burly, and when I got back to the car one week later, it was gone. Startling.
Yeah, I still think the collapse of the USSR was "Alien Space Bat" territory.
Alien Space Bats are (mythical?) superpowered creatures who in turn make almost impossible/improbable events in history happen. "Alternate History" is a hobby of mine and sometimes when we play the "what if game," we invoke Alien Space Bats to make almost impossible events happen.
Well, digressing, in high school, we did agree the USSR would collapse at some point, but we figured that it would have lasted until 2020 at the earliest or as my friend put it, "we will be old men."
Sometimes I think the United States will go the same way. One week itll be here, the next week the states will be scrambling this way and that to create a new configuration for governance. I would hope that if this happens it occurs with the same lack of warfare that I witnessed in Russia, but who knows... as long as Im on the side of the border reestablishing limited government, natural rights, and rule of law.
Well, we can only hope, it is like the Glenn Beck analogy of bringing down and ditching a plane. We need to look for a highway to land on or at least a large, level, soft meadow but if it gets bad, we could bring it down into a load of trees or worse, a side of a mountain.
God help us.
Well, preach it, man! I think He's the only one that can help us now. Amen.
