George Soros, T. Boone Pickens, Kevin G. Douglas and companies under their control stand to reap the rewards of billions of taxpayer dollars in subsidies contained in a Democratic-sponsored measure set for a vote this week.
..The act would subsidize three different enterprises controlled by Soros, Pickens and Douglas, who consistently rank among the most generous political donors, according to Federal Election Commission Records.
Moreover, HUMAN EVENTS has learned that one of these companies, Fuel Systems Solutions based in Santa Ana, Calif., has and continues to conduct business, through its foreign subsidiaries, with customers in Iran, according to the companys U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings. The company acknowledges in those filings that tougher international economic sanctions levied in light of that nations civilian nuclear program may adversely affect its Iranian-based revenues in 2012, as such measures have in the past.

This is important on so many levels, but partially because the Democrats claim to have bi-partisan support. Please call or notify your local Republican Senators and tell them to vote NO on this Democrat crony highway bill. This is pure pork, fascist pork, at that.
What colossal chutzpah... i.e. business as usual
Obama is pushing this like another stimulus bill. This time Obama is breaking down all the pork into separate bills.
This morning, I read, here on FreeRepublic that Big Sis announced a new FEMA preparedness program which sounds a lot like a job corps or possibly Obama’s civilian militia.
This is all aimed at artificially lowering the unemployment rate for Obama’s re-election.
This highway bill is far worse than the old quid pro quo, this pure fascism.
The body politic ought to be able to put two and two together by now. Doctored unemployment reports plus pork equals a big expensive sham.
I’m shocked.
Boner has proved to the world that he is nothing but a fraud. Hope the people of Ohio show him the door, first chance they get.
The body politic ought to be able to put two and two together by now.
They didn’t do it in 2008. I sure hope they have learned by now.
I just say, Thank you Lord!!!!!!
Actually, I’m cool with the Natural Gas plan. We have a BOATLOAD of it in this country, and, living in Texas, that means we can be essentially independent of energy from what remains of the United States. In fact, I would buy a CNG car tomorrow if I had a way of filling it up at my house. Right now, I’d have to drive a fair distance to one of the 3 filling stations in Houston...and, since the cars only go around 200 to 250 miles, it simply is not practical. However, in a post-crash world, having vehicles that run on something besides gasoline can only be good.
You can say that again. I’ll say it for you, “Thank the Lord!”
I’ve been reading for weeks about this bill having bi-partisan support and I fully expected our Republicans to sell us out on this one.
Each one of these bills is going to add to the deficit, which is going to explode in a debt bomb in eight years. I was reading yesterday in the WSJ that Obama and Bernanke have arranged the equivalent of a balloon mortgage for the national debt, with a rate increase in five years and balloon payment in 8.
In the mean time Obama wants to take out a second and third mortgages to make sure that the bomb explodes on his predecessor.
??? There’s a 404 error at that link. Weird.
Is this the same highway bill that Boehner got the Republicans to sign by adding on the Keystone pipeline that the Senate Democrats removed?
Thanks for the update.
I’m not opposed to promoting the use of natural gas. I am opposed to government subsidies and crony capitalism.
George Soros does not need government subsidies for his investments. He is quite capable of securing his own financing.
Natural gas is the fuel of the future and petroleum is the fuel of the here and now. Petroleum can get us out of debt. It has the potential rebalance our trade deficit, if the next president opens up the drilling.
LNG needs to be used more in this country, also. They are building an enormous LNG port in Asia, off the coast of Australia, that China is investing in. China has a better energy policy than the US, sad to say.
“Im not opposed to promoting the use of natural gas. I am opposed to government subsidies and crony capitalism.”
It’s hard to argue that. I just want to see CNG become an option for me.
I don't know where I was but I didn't hear anything about this until now. Do you know the bill so we can call and thank those Repubs who voted against it. Soros needs America to collapse so that the free world falls like dominoes. But, this administration is so corrupt and ruthless it is hard to keep ahead of it. I'd give my eye teeth to know who's on obama's speed dial.
It is an option. They have been using natural gas in cars for thirty years. During the Carter administration, most of the cabs in Los Angeles were all powered by natural gas. It’s not rocket science and it’s not new. It takes up a lot of trunk space, though.
