A 35-year-old south Charlotte man has been charged with statutory rape after a 14-year-old girl gave birth to his child this weekend, according to police. Jail officials say Juan Martinez Hernandez, who is believed to be in the country illegally, has run afoul of police and immigration agents before, following a 2010 drunken driving arrest. It’s unclear what became of Hernandez between his release to immigration agents in 2010 and the rape charges on Sunday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials couldn’t be reached for comment Monday. On Sunday, the 14-year-old gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of an apartment off Mont Carmel Lane near East Arrowood Road. Her family called 911, and the responding paramedics asked police for assistance. The girl told police the baby’s father was a man who lived in the neighborhood, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police found and interviewed Juan Martinez Hernandez. Hernandez “admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim on several occasions,” according to a police report.

(CNSNews.com) – Despite testimony from a man whose brother was killed by an illegal alien who was driving drunk and had five previous DWI arrests, Democrats spoke out against legislation that would allow arresting officers to check the legal status of aliens and transfer confirmed illegal immigrants into federal custody.

Wednesday’s hearing of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement focused on the Scott Gardner Act, sponsored by Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.), who testified on the first panel.

The bill is named after a University of North Carolina student, Scott Gardner, who was run over by Jorge Humberto Hernandez-Soto, an illegal alien who was driving drunk and who had been returned to Mexico 17 times before he killed the young college student, according to a 2005 article about the incident in the Charlotte Observer.

“By directing state officers to treat people differently based upon their perceived alienage, the bill would essentially become a national version of the Arizona and Alabama immigration laws, inviting widespread racial profiling and discrimination in violation of the Constitution,” Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), the ranking Democratic member, said at Wednesday’s hearing.

In support of her argument, Lofgren cited a Supreme Court ruling against a provision of the Brady Act, which required state officers to perform a federal background check on prospective gun buyers.

catch and release - it seems to me when law enforcement personnel who are sworn to uphold the constitution and laws of the country, fail to do so, have violated the law and oath and s/b indicted or fired or both.

The age of consent in Mexico is 14. It is common for 40 year old men to bang 14 year old girls. This guy probably thinks “What is the big deal? I didn’t know she was 13 and a half. I swear she looks like she is 14.” If this happened in Los Angeles the police chief and D.A. would ignore it.

YOU STUPID GRINGOS!

This is not a crime in meheeko. In fact it is NORMAL among the rural illiterate mexicans. AND...child birth is not such a dangerous life-threatening event among mexican females having have a high percentage of native american blood. They are known for their comparably(to europeans) effortless child birthing.

Double? You're being overly generous with humanity. There is at least an octuple standard and, no doubt, I am being overly generous with humanity.

That visual is cracking me up.

We could sell tickets too. And Mexico would determine the outcome - we'd give them the landing coordinates, and they could put up nets.

Or not.

“The girl told police the baby’s father was a man who lived in the neighborhood, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police found and interviewed Juan Martinez Hernandez. Hernandez “admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim on several occasions,”

The police now state with some confidence that Senor Hernandez, as well as quite possibly having been in the country illegally, has also been determined to be a person of interest in the criminal investigation.
More on this story in a few years ....

In other news, the American soldier charged with numerous murders in Afghanistan will be hanged tomorrow morning at daybreak.

Yeah, I guess I did. The thing is that there are so many misspelled words on so many threads, but some of them just leap out at me.

I suppose the message you refer to is the “sin” part of the word. Well, isn’t that special? How clever.
