Gilbert, AZ --(Ammoland.com)- The Georgia House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee has been assigned SB432, Knife Rights’ Knife Law Preemption bill that would repeal all local knife ordinances more restrictive than state law. The committee will consider SB432 in the coming days.
Once again, we need your help to get this bill passed. Your calls and emails made a big impact in the Senate. Now, please call or email and ask the members of the committee to vote YES on SB432 when it is before them for consideration.

We people have carried knives as protection and utility purposes from the begining of time.Why would a government stop something that is so important for survival?
I think it is a combination of two things:
First, once you remove traditional morality and self control, you have to worry about all the untamed animals that are produced. Each child is an untamed animal that has to be trained to be a responsible member of society. Remove and denigrate that moral training, and you have a lot of dangerous animals being produced.
Second, the carry and use of knives in traditional roles require and promote the idea of independence and responsibility. Both are anathema to collectivist thought. Thus, the suppression of the carry of knives helps to promote the themes of dependence and reduced individual responsibility.
Does this mean my 13-year-old granddaughter, who killed two deer this year with her .308 Savage, is an ‘untamed animal’? She looks so sweet....
As your granddaughter, I expect that she is pretty well “tamed” in the way that was intended. That is, I expect that she is pretty moral and self disciplined, essential characteristics for a free society.
They generally fall into three categories:
1) Blade length limit for carry - WHY? The knives in anyone's kitchen are nice and long. I can walk down the street with a 24" long hand saw in my hands that will do just as much or more damage than a long knife.
2) Concealed knife length limit - Again, WHY? Same reasons as above. Will a 5" blade really do more damage than a 2-7/8" blade? No, not really.
Automatic knife bans - Here's one which is like "assault" rifle bans. It's all in how a knife looks and is opened - the knife is no more or less dangerous than a non-spring knife. I go shooting with a cop who carries a Microtech auto. One day at the the range, we had an argument about automatic knife laws.
So I challenged him to a knife opening speed test, with me using my everyday carry Boker. We each had to get the knife out of our pocket and open it. Time and again, his blade just barely beat mine without a spring and one-hand opening. A couple of times, I beat him. After six or so tries, I said: "See, automatic knives are no more dangerous or faster and the laws banning them are stupid." He had to agree.
Excellent post, well state and argued. This is how we are rolling back the insanely stupid knife laws.
A fixed blade is even faster.
