Israel is Egypt’s no. 1 enemy, MPs declare (New Egypt parliament)

The lower house of the Egyptian parliament has unanimously approved a text declaring that Israel is the number one enemy of Egypt and calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and a halt to gas exports to Israel.

On Monday, Egyptian MPs voted by a show of hands on the text of a report, which was compiled by the Arab Affairs Committee of the People's Assembly (lower house of parliament).

"Revolutionary Egypt will never be a friend, partner or ally of the Zionist entity, which we consider to be the number one enemy of Egypt and the Arab nation," the report declared, adding, "It will deal with that entity as an enemy, and the Egyptian government is hereby called upon to review all its relations and accords with that enemy."

In 1979, Egypt became the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel, but was compelled to agree to supply gas to Israel as one of the main economic conditions of the US-sponsored peace deal.

Nothing else has to happen for the rapture to occur. As a matter of fact, it seems the rapture has to occur before the anti-Christ appears because believers (true believers) could easily identify him as such.

Not according to 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 and Matthew 24, Mark 13.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And except those days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but the the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:21,22)

An honest reading of Matthew 24, Mark 13 and 2 Thess 2 makes it very clear that believers (the elect) will be persecuted by the antichrist. Even if they can identify him, the rest of humanity will think that he is the "Messiah". But believers will not be deceived. (Matthew 24:24)

You need to burn your Tim LaHaye books and crack open your Bible. Matthew 24 and Mark 13 would be good places start.

You are correct.

I used to believe in both dispensationalism and a pre-trib rapture back before I actually read the Scriptures for myself. Having read them, I could find neither concept in Scripture and abandoned those beliefs.
