Rep. Shelley Berkely, D-Nev., has led a push to get Rush Limbaugh pulled off the air, but she doesnn't believe that Bill Maher needs to face the same pressure because Maher is less important to Democrats.
"There’s a big difference between what is being said by Bill Maher and his humor, although I don’t find that funny, and what Rush Limbaugh does, who pretty much calls the shots in the Republican Party," Berkely, who is running for Senate, said in the Las Vegas Sun. Maher has donated $1 million to President Obama's superPAC.
She maintained that her petition drive calling for Clear Channel to pull Limbaugh's show "has nothing to do with the First Amendment" and everything to do with defending women from demeaning remarks. "I am merely asking Clear Channel to make a business decision to get somebody who uses and abuses the public airwaves off the airwaves," Berkley said. "We need to stand up for ourselves as women around this country."

Liars. Rush was making a clear joke. Maher was clearly calling names. There was no real humor in a man just calling a woman a c word. Nothing. It caused laughter by sycophants who hate the woman in question.
Rush made a full on funny: hey, you want to be paid by us (taxpayers) to have sex! Doesn’t that make you a slut, a prostitute, by definition?? A joke!
And remember that the argument is not and never was “denying women birth control.”. The argument was religious freedom, and the unconstitutionality of forcing a religion to go against their tenets.

This isn’t about defending women from demeaning remarks. It’s about trying to silence a voice of the opposition. If she sat down and thought really hard (I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt here) she would find other aspects of the culture that are much more seriously demeaning to women than anything Limbaugh said, including some lucrative activities in her home state. Let’s see her go after those.

I’ve been wanting to verify exactly what Rush said because I didn’t hear it first hand...
Here it is in all its glory:

If she thinks it has nothing to do with the First Amendment, then she doesn’t understand the Constitution and she needs to be recalled by her constituents.
