Prayers for the remaining family members. This man needs to be put in the express lane for the death penalty.
Oh, wow, what a blessing!
No kidding, this story just got worse and worse as I read thru it. Just horrible.
if one of them hostages was carrying their own gun, this would be over in a flash.
oh wait. if they ban guns from courthouses, this couldn’t happen. so it must not be.
all part of your imagination folks...
Angry, White, TeaParty, male, non-union worker, related to George Bush, with a carry permit, no doubt!
Another court house shooting?
Hmmmm
I’m gonna go way out on a limb here and predict that the woman in her mid-20’s is the wife and the elderly woman that was killed is her attorney. This sounds like a family court thing.
I could be dead wrong, and if I am, well, I was wrong. :-)
Very sketchy details at this time.
...
At least one person is dead in a shooting at the Jefferson County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson says 4 people were shot, 1 killed and the shooter is in custody, but did not release any other information.
A County employee says no employees at the courthouse were hurt, and the victims were visitors. The shooting is reported to have happened outside of the courthouse near the entrance.
317th District Judge Larry Thorne tells 12NewsNow.Com the shooter is Bartholomew Granger who had a court hearing set for Wednesday afternoon.
12News HD has a crew on the scene and will have more throughout the day.

Three of the victims were shot in the parking lot.
One was found in the basement of the courthouse.

There are reports that the shooter ran over his daughter.
The shooter had a court appearance scheduled for 1 pm this afternoon for sexual assault.
A news conference has been scheduled for 1:30 pm at the Beaumont Police Station.
The courthouse has been classified as a crime scene with the surrounding area closed down.

One of the shooting victims was near the front door of the courthouse.

One of the victims is the man’s daughter, not wife.
He was to face charges that he sexually abused his daughter who is mentally deficient.
Info so far is that he both shot her and ran over her with his vehicle, outside the courthouse.
Some security!
Was the wife one of the injured? Who was the elderly lady that was killed? I’ll read updates.
Thanks!
Yes, some victims found in parking lot. Overhead shot on CNN showed the suspect’s car, door open (he must have been pulled from it). On the sidewalk there were what looked like markers
for found bullet shells (evidence). That’s all from CNN

If any two of those apply we can expect a statement from the WH. Pelosi. etc..
If he’s not White. Dem. Union. etc
crickets
you starting to get the sense that they’re running some sort of “Fast and Furious” operation domestically?
I wonder if this was some sort of Honor Killing?
It's clear that wanton violence has increased since Obama took office. This tragic incident adds to the daily reports of flash mobs attacking innocent whites, school shootings on the rise, the skyrocketing crime rate, murders (black-on-black and black-on-white), armed robberies and so on.
A president operating outside of the rule of law has created an environment where lawlessness is now the rule.
In NM it isn’t illegal, though there are signs saying it will be prosecuted it cannot be done legally because the State’s Constitution prohibits it (Art II, Sec 6).
In fact, considering this case, and the multiple USSC cases where they said that the police have no affirmative obligation to any [particular] private citizen’s protection; any court which demands your presence w/o charges yet disarms you (ie jury duties) is abridging your right to protection.
buy a lottery ticket...stat....lol
glad you are safe !
Fast and Furious: Mexico blows up in their faces, and now all of a sudden we have a school shooting in Cleveland, a psychiatric hospital shooting in Pittsburgh, and this courthouse shooting, all within a couple of weeks? Seems a bit convenient to me.
I don’t know anything about a wife.
I haven’t heard who the elderly lady was.
Now mind you, I’m relaying reports I’m reading here on FR from those who took the reports from news media.
And it was here that I read he shot and ran over the daughter. Maybe that’s wrong...as to who that victim was. But the reports said daughter.
And the charge he was facing was that he sexually assaulted a daughter who is mentally deficient.
I put two and two together and thought he ran over and shot the daughter who was the victim of his sexual assault.
Maybe, maybe not.
