USA --(Ammoland.com)- BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Doctors managed to do what the government could nottemporarily silence me, Sipsey Street Irregulars blogger Mike Vanderboegh told Gun Rights Examiner by phone this morning from the intensive care unit at Trinity Medical Center.
The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance blog reported yesterday that Vanderboegh, the first citizen journalist to tie in the connection between Fast and Furious walked guns and the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, and a continual force in breaking new information about the ongoing story, was out of surgery, where a large gastro-intestinal stromal tumor was removed. His wife told this correspondent last night that he had a good prognosis for full recovery.
Theyll probably keep me in IC until Sunday and the care is excellent, Vanderboegh remarked in this mornings conversation. Everybody is doing their best and Im impressed with the doctor.
The pain goes back and forth, he related, saying hospital staff plans to sit him up for the first time today. The surgery required removing part of his pancreas and, part of his esophagus, and left him with 20% of his stomach, which is expected to stretch out.

Thanks for post. Prayers up!
I heard on the radio show Armed American that he had a 20% chance of not even making it out of surgery. So glad to hear that he did.
He still has a tough road ahead. Wish him well.
Sounds good so far, hope he keeps getting better.
Mike Vanderboegh surgery update! PING!
Continued prayers for Mike for a fast recovery.
Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea are heroes and patriots of the first order. Their courage and persistance has gotten us this far. Hopefully, we will soon see justice done.
Prayers up for both of them and their families.
Prayers for Mike Vanderboegh his family and loved ones... Thanks Mesta for letting me know.
Except for the removal of my esophagus, I had almost the exact same surgery albeit for different reasons. I’m still walking around. I expect Mike will be up to speed before we know it. Prayers do work...and the human body is a miracle of G-d no matter how you look at it.
You’re welcome. Thanks thouworm for letting ME know! and marktwain for letting us ALL know!
I meant to ping you, but got busy!
I love you anyway. So there!
Why would part of his esophagus have to be removed?
Tumors are unpredictable.
Great to hear. I’ve been praying for Mike since the getgo on this deal. He has always been kind to me in personal correspondence, and I think he is kind of modern day revolutionary patriot. I think our Founders would have recognized him as one of their own.
Yes they are; I have at least one benign one in my neck. It’s no fun having a terrible endocrine system.
