NY Times still advertising during 'Rush Limbaugh Show'
Daily Caller ^ | March 15, 2012 | Jeff Poor

While Media Matters for America has been eager to argue that conservative talker Rush Limbaugh’s radio show has suffered in the wake of controversial remarks he made recently on his show, the liberal attack group is not telling the whole story when it claims the program’s flagship station, WABC 770 AM in New York City, has had to broadcast dead air during commercial breaks because of the flap.

Last week the Media Matters website pointed out the dead air on the station’s online “listen live” feed. But the group ignored what was aired over the broadcast airwaves, which often dramatically differs from online feeds.

Some stations don’t run commercials online because of extra announcer fees and issues surrounding advertising agency rights, according to John Mainelli, a former New York Post media reporter.

Facts don't matter to these propagandists. They will repeat this for years until it becomes “truth”, like Sarah Palin being able to see Russia from her house.

Rush doesn’t have show sponsors (not many, anyway). He gets his money from station franchising, irrespective of whom advertises what and when.

Advertisers can influence when their spots run or don’t run, but most don’t mess with the individual stations’ programming.

Bottom line: Rush is still the biggest draw on radio — KFI in Los Angeles would probably not even exist in talk format without him. Even the libs admit that.

boycott all companies that support the progressives and call them expressing that

if you identify a progressive in your everyday life, stop associating with them

if you are interviewing someone and determine theya re a progressive, don’t hire them

if you find a progressive in your company, work to move them to a dying branch

we outnumber them... MAKE IT HURT

The media made 2 words Rush said a world story that everyone is talking about. The media wants us to not think about Obama ‘s rising gas prices, Obama exploding the debt by 5 trillion dollars which will lead the U.S. to collapse, that there are no good jobs, that Obama is letting in illegals, Obama sending our jobs to China etc. Nobody would have heard of that or cared that a radio talk show host said 2 words about some nobody.

The media are not doing their job but are just campaigning for democrats/socialism. How is that hope and change of Obama and the media working for you? What opportunity is there In America now: go to compete with 40 others for a job in Mcdonalds after going to a 4 year college and you are in school loan debt : that's hope and change and the media instead talks of 2 words uttered by a talk show host, whitney houston , kardishian etc.

The media has too much power and are controlling people into voting
for democrats/socialism which will cause the U.S. to collapse(17 trillion debt and growing : anyone tell me how the U.S. won't collapse .

I actually heard it was the other way around.

He gives the show to the station for nothing but he only allots them a limited amount of local insertion air time and the rest of the advertisers are his.

I could be wrong, but that is what I heard a few years ago.

That isn’t how he described it the other day, but maybe I mis-heard...

“broadcast dead air during commercial breaks”

This is BS. For years, radio stations have been able run commercials over the air, but because of “union rules”(talent fees, etc)those commercials could not be played on the ‘net. The commercials, when listening to the web feed, are normally “covered” with a Public Service Announcement....or dead air.

Hell - Dims will accept support from all sorts of unsavory slime. Why shouldn’t the “Slimes” garner visibility wherever they can get it?
