Bill Maher spoke with ABC’s Jake Tapper about whether there was a double standard for liberals using offensive language towards conservative women. In the interview, the HBO host responded to the criticism over his obscene remarks about former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and defended calling her the c-word.
Tapper asked Maher, in the wake of the controversy over Rush Limbaugh‘s comments about Sandra Fluke, whether there was a double standard, with the media accepting offensive language when it is used by liberals against conservative women. “Is that a fair comparison? You have certainly used offensive words to describe some politicians you don’t like.”
“I’m a comedian, not just a guy who says he is, like Rush, but someone who -– well, you saw me do stand-up last year in D.C. There’s a big difference between just saying you’re a comedian and going out and getting thousands of people to laugh hard for 90 minutes,” Maher argued.

Fluke is no more “civilian” than Palin. Fluke is a career women’s rights activist.

Fluke was thrust into the public arena by her handlers..and she became a legitimate target of sarcasm and parody. That is what happens when you become a public figure.
Indeed — Maher’s catty comments were not about Palin the Alaskan governor, but Palin the vice presidential candidate. And both she and Fluke count as “public figures” in the eyes of the law.
Rush got onto Twitter today, and is attracting every nutball kook on the continent to it like a magnet to tweet vile stuff against him. Way to smoke ‘em out of the weeds Rush!

By that standard, Maher attacks millions of civilians every day. After all, who was he attacking with his “toothless Tuesday” remarks?
Maher is the ‘C-word’ as well,except it ends in ‘K’ instead of ‘T’.

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Fluke was paid for work in the Democrat publicity stunt.

Fluke went before Congress to insist that strangers pay for her birth control so she could keep her vagina running as an amusement park. You lose “civilian” status when you testify as an expert before Congress.
