LAFAYETTE, Colo. – A 19-year-old man was ticketed Wednesday for allegedly leaving his cat tied to a rock at a Lafayette Park.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Seth Franco took his cat to Waneka Lake Park to join him for a jog.

“Apparently, the individual was trying to jog with the animal on a leash and the animal was either unwilling or unable to keep up,” Lafayette police Sgt. Fred Palmer told the Daily Camera.

Franco allegedly secured his cat to a rock in order to finish his run around the park. A passerby spotted the cat being attacked by birds and called police.

Animal control responded and Franco was ticketed for animal cruelty.

There is no good ending possible for a story that begins:

“Seth Franco took his cat to Waneka Lake Park to join him for a jog…”

The blue jays always had my parents' cats intimidated. They kept low to the ground and tried to scurry past the nests, but the jays always found them, screeched and dove at them. Most other birds just made noise, but the jays were out for blood (or at least soft kitty fur for the nest).

So if I tie my horse to the fence post and a fly bites him it is my fault. Well dang, what is the charge, horse fly neglect or horse neglect.

Who the heck takes their cat jogging? Then he ties it and leaves it? What an idiot.

silly faggot - he wanted to be seen out with his cat (as if that’s not weird enough) but could neither carry the cat while jogging (a new sport someplace maybe???) nor could he drag the cat on a leash while he jogged; having missed his chance of being seen out with his cat, he wasn’t going to to miss his chance to at least being seen out (double entendre?).........jogging

Not the same.

The cat was too vulnerable being tethered like that. Could have been attacked by a dog or coyote or something.

In an attempt to jog, he jogged loose his few remaining brain cells and they fell out his ear.

So if I tie my horse to the fence post and a fly bites him it is my fault.

Tie your horse to the bumper of your car then hit the expressway........if it can't keep up then tie it to the median with a 50 ft. rope till you get back. Whatever happens certainly ain't your fault.....

His livestock, his problem. My cousin walked his show streers with his tractor. Today they probably use a four wheeler.
