Catholics are Christians, and yes, we do believe in "turning the other cheek". We read the same Bible, and claim the same savior, as those "Christians" of whom you speak.
But there's also a place for resistance to tyranny. For example, a tyranny that attempts to shut down or suborn the faith is one that needs to be resisted, passively if not actively.
In the case of the Spanish Civil War, something like 3000 priests were shot by the "Republicans" (= Communists). Not for any crime they had committed, but simply for being Catholic priests. I would tend to think that the "Christians" you're talking about would react the same way to a state that shot thousands of Christian ministers for no reason except their identity. Maybe they would be far less indulgent toward that state than the Spanish Catholics were.

Well we are going to get a chance to see how Christians react to persecutions. My grandfather fought in the revolution and again in the Christero war. Two priest were some of the best fighters in the war. He immigrated to the USA when the “peace” resulted in a bunch of priests and fellow Catholics put up against the wall.

Having Matthews, Schultz and Sharpton on the same show is perhaps the greatest collection of intolerant minds ever assembled, with the possible exception of when David Duke dines alone. What an excellent line! I love IBD.

So says a bigot
"A"??
I counted at least NINE in that reply!
Prophet Joseph Smith:
Prophet Brigham Young
Orson Pratt
President John Taylor
James Talmage
President Joseph Fielding Smith
Apostle Bruce McConkie
President George Q. Cannon
President Wilford Woodruff
So bert; do you still AGREE with all the things those wonderful men said; just like the last time?
