An Ohioan called tonight and said they have a photographer relative out taking photos who saw a funnel from a Luna Pier location. They were on their way to Ida, MI to check out the area. Decades ago I lived near Monroe, MI.

Our friends daughter and her kids were IN the tornado. They were in a storm shelter at their day care center, and are OK. They were unable to go back and check on their house, though due to downed trees.

Our house is three miles from the tornado path, and the storm went over it. We're away for the winter, though, so every one is fine. Every thing looks OK at the house, too, through a video camera we have there. Hope all of you in the area are OK, too.

I thought that was farther north, in Tuscola County. Just as you enter the thumb.

It was described as being in “Decker, MI”...

I’m about five miles due east of there near US-23. That was a little too close to comfort. I got some hail and rain, but missed the tornado.

Yeah, that's right. Decker is at the base of where a thumbnail should be. One of my sisters used to farm out there--a lot of helicopter traffic after OKC, coming and going from the Nichols compound.

Last night's storms were about 40 miles south of that area.
