Maj. Gen. John Toolan, the top Marine commander in Afghanistan at the time, said in an AP interview March 7 that the Afghan government has been embarrassed by recent cases of Afghan soldiers turning their guns on their supposed partners.

I highly doubt they're actually "embarrassed."

Maybe Obama needs to apologize to them again.

Yeah, I went to his funeral as a participant of the Patriot Guard Riders. At that time his death was under investigation and most of my group felt that it would eventually be ruled as death by “friendly” forces. The Greenville community turned out in force to honor him.

“the Afghan government has been embarrassed by recent cases of Afghan soldiers turning their guns on their supposed partners.”

Yeah, right. They are so embarrased that they are catching these good little muzzies and puting them on trial for murder? ‘Didn’t think so.

“under investigation”? They had the perp and turned him over to the Afghans almost immediately. I got a sick feeling reading this story. It just drips with PC. We are in deep trouble.

I demand that Karzai turn this soldier over to the United States for trial, immediately.

And whats worse is that the Marines were told to disarm before they went into the hall to hear the SecDef speak.

To: PghBaldy; All

Thanks so much for posting this. It came across my twitter feed VERY early this morning, and I had to read it twice to be sure of what I was reading : |

Read all the way to the end of the article FRiends - it goes on to state that several other recent “combat related” deaths of our soldiers were in fact deaths at the hands of Afghan soldiers that we were there to help...

It is time to bring them home.

Our current _resident does NOT have their best interest at heart, and IMHO, actually seeks to use them to further damage the United States.

Dear Lord, watch over them, every one.

I wish I could trust our leadership to do the right thing by our men and women, but that is not the case.

I think that was made abundantly clear when our Marines were disarmed for the Panetta visit.

That it was done for the most politically correct of reasons was bad enough, but that not one “higher up” stepped forward to even question/discuss the rationale behind it.

Not one put forward the possibility that it might further erode the morale of our troops, or worse, reinforce the appearance of weakness to our enemies.

Heavenly Father, protect them.

This makes me sick to my stomach.

Two years ago, my son was a 20-year-old Marine Lance Corproal in Iraq. Not Afghanistan, and not in a combat situation.

But I can vasualize -- more, I can feel in my body --- what happened to this young American when an Afghan "ally" shot him in the back of the head.

I can't express the horror.

I wonder if these killings were why the Marines had to disarm themselves when Panetta came visiting. Might have been safer for Panetta if they had kept their weapons.
