George Clooney Arrested At Sudan Protest
3:24pm UK, Friday March 16, 2012 Police have arrested George Clooney during a protest outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington DC.
The actor, who is president of United to End Genocide, was arrested along with several Democrat politicians and other human rights and faith leaders for civil disobedience.
The campaigners were protesting the humanitarian emergency that is reportedly threatening the lives of 500,000 people.
After speaking on the steps of the embassy to hundreds of activists, members of Congress and activist leaders were asked by police to leave the scene. When they refused, police arrested them.
Clooney, his father, Nick and others, including Democratic politican Jim Moran of Virginia and civil rights leader Ben Jealous, were arrested after being warned three times not to cross a police line outside the embassy.
They were handcuffed and placed into a US Secret Service van.

When I saw the headline on Drudge, I was expecting to read about some sort of crazy nonsense.
Far from it. The Muslim fanatics in Northern Sudan have been murdering Christians in the south for decades, while the U.S. has stood silently be and said nothing. Now the South has partially split off, but the Muzzies are down there murdering MORE Christians.
Every once in a while, these guys find a worthy cause to protest for. Obama, of course, sides with the Muzzies. Clinton and Bush apparently didn’t care.
I don’t think we should intervene. But I DO think that we should at least talk about what’s happening in the media. These are black Christians being killed, so I guess the media things they are all Uncle Toms who aren’t worth worrying about.

This was so planned. And some dem senators were arrested also? is that what the meeting with Obama was about? who was in “safe seat” districts that could go out and get arrested with George? In my gut I feel this is truly a distraction. With the KONY 2012 thing coming up on April 20th, they want people to think about things other than what Obama has done to this country. And there’s probably a multitude of other ulterior motives to go with it. Once we stand up and start talking about what a sham this is, we will be labeled (once again) the “radicals.” Clooney also talks about meeting with Franklin Graham’s “Samaritan’s Purse” and talking with Pat Robertson (through Bono arrangement) and says “what great organizations they are, they’ve been doing great work for many years.” so why didn’t he just go back to Hollywood and ask his millionaire buddies to donate. Instead he crosses a line that he was told not to - three times - for the publicity of it all....this whole story smells to high heavens. And don’t forget, the April 20 KONY protest date also coincides with a possible “occupy” resurgence...and will that bring the chaos that George Soros and Van Jones and Frances Fox Pivens have been desperately waiting for?
I agree with your assessment, completely. In fact, if Obama could have pulled it off, he would have been right beside Clooney and the Dems in the protest and in cuffs. This is their attempt to align themselves with the occupy crowd.
thanks for that, but for some reason, reading that someone agrees completely, totally made my stomach flip-flop. They are taking this to brand new levels. And they have “celebrity” on their side. All of the Hollywood Heroes have jumped into this KONY thing....even conservative friends on my facebook are jumping on....it sure seems like the right thing to do on the face of it, but jeez....so many people have been teaching us DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK and Andrew always questioning everything, I’m surprised and disappointed that more people haven’t learned that lesson.
Don’t I remember correctly that Clooney came out with a very nasty-toned TV ad aimed at GW Bush, scolding him for not doing enough in Darfur?

It's unfortunate that a majority of Americans are completely oblivious to what's happening and it's equally disturbing that as many don't even care. The liberals did an excellent job of eradicating the negatives of fascism, socialism and communism from our public education system. It's as effective as their scrubbing of America's exceptionalism has been.

It’s the “female” symbol and the circle above has the radical fist inside of it. Pray for America!
but I don’t think that’s a circle...look again. It’s also been used in the 70’s as a socialists symbol for women’s rights....but the top looks more like a muslim crescent to me, I’ve asked an expert for her input, will let you know what she says.

Clooney is acting as a red herring for Obama to shift the lens away from the plight of Americans in this stinking Obama economy and try to get us to feel that we are privileged because we don’t live in a *** pit like Kahrtoum.

Supposedly they were there protesting that country using the withholding of food as a weapon. If that is true I can not be mad at him for trying to bring attention to that.
On other issues he can easily be a tool, but maybe this one isn’t the worst to stand up for.
I am saying I do not know the particulars on this, but based on a couple of articles I read this is about food and starving people and if that is the case I can’t fault his actions on this.
