Geraldo And Kilmeade Get Into..Argument Over Afghanistan: ‘They Will Never Evolve Into Americans’
Mediaite ^ | March 16, 2012 | Alex Alvarez

Geraldo Rivera stopped by the set of Fox & Friends early Friday morning, where he weighed in on the future of our war in Afghanistan — and entered into a heated debate with host Brian Kilmeade in the process.

.......................................................

“Are we going to create an ‘Afghanistan, California’?” asked Rivera. “What are we going to do there?”

“These are people,” he continued, “for whom the Holy Book is their whole lives, and the deaths of children is just a passing event.”

“They will never evolve into Americans,” he added after Kilmeade asked what happens when the people we’ve been trying so hard to remove inevitably return to Afghanistan. “2014 will make no difference!”

Eighteen years after we nuked Japan, a Japanese singer had a number 1 hit on the Billboard Charts (”Sukiaki” by Kyu Sakimoto).

If we nuked Afghanistan, I bet we could expect the same positive result!

(now removing tongue from cheek)

My point is we should have destroyed AQ (which we did) and then left. Sticking around to try to make an elephant act like a monkey is just stupid.

We are only doing it so we can “harvest” their rare earth elements. How is that plan working out with the Saudis?

We never learn.

Can you provide any evidence that we are taking rare earth elements from Afghanistan?

For all his many faults, I have to side with Rivera on this one. He’s been to Afghanistan and has seen what’s happening first-hand to a larger degree than most.

And the bottom line is there’s no hope for people dominated by “men” whose only objectives in life are to live in the 7th century, trudge around in mud, beat their wives and kill each other.

We accomplished our military objective in early 2002, and we did our best to give those miserable creatures a chance at a better life. But we’re at the diminishing-returns stage now, and it’s time to pull our troops out. Those knuckledragging subhumans can’t be trusted not to kill our guys and they simply aren’t worthy of American blood and treasure.

So let’s bomb our way out of that hellhole if we have to and bring our troops home. Now.

Kilmeade makes Soledad look smart. Time to get the hell out of that hell hole. Anymore trouble comes out of there then nuke them.

Amazing! Geraldo finally got something right.

So who stirred up the Afghani muzzies? (In 2011)

From the WSJ:

"Most Afghans learned about the Quran burning in Florida only when Mr. Karzai on March 24 (4 days after!) condemned the act as "a crime against the religion and the entire Muslim nation," called on the U.S. and the U.N. to bring the perpetrators to justice and demanded "a satisfactory response to the resentment and anger of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world."

General Petraeus has certainly won Karzai's heart and mind. /s

You would think that having our female troops wear muslim hijabs instead of K-pots would have been enough to placate them.

“These people’ will revert to type.

That is the only scenario. Too much has to be de programmed for them to step into the 21st century.

They will still produce/smuggle opium
They will still sell their daughters
They will still settle all/any disagreements with a rifle
They will still hate/distrust any non-Muslim
They will still change ‘sides’ at a whim
They will still appease the Taliban

They will still be poor, backward and violent. Nothing will change. EVER

I even think 7th century is too advanced for Afghanistan. Hell you can resurrect Alexander the Great and he would recognize the place except for the Islam.

I’m beginning to agree with you.

Let them live in the 8th century like they want... screw Karzi and his minions.

Do not pay for anymore of infrastructure or defense upgrades including the new air force we are buying them. Let them use sticks and stones for defense and the sun for heating.

to follow Geraldo’s advise would be to embolden the radicals and hasten the day of their dreams - making the streets of America look like Afghanistan. I believe it is better to deal with them over there than in the USA.

We don’t ‘steal’ oil - we don’t ‘take’ rare earth elements. We buy the crap from these loser countries. Oh and did you know that’s a communist Chinese line? About the ‘rare earth’ stuff? I heard it three years ago... If you have links to us ‘taking’ rather than ‘buying’ let me see them.

Kilmeade makes Soledad look smart.

Nobody can make Soledad look smart; she doubtlessly has the lowest IQ of any TV talking head. (A close second is MIka).

I am still trying to figure out why we invaded Iraq.

Shortly after we invaded Afgahnistan the “discovery” of about $4 trillion in mineral deposits was announced.

Sure we will “pay” for it, and build the mines. Sure, I guess that is fine.

But anyone who believes we are sending our troops and marines to that hell hole to give them freedom is simply naive. AQ is out of there and dispersed throughout the middle east, and central Asia.

Can someone give me a reasonable explanation as to why we are there.

The process of liberating their minerals has not yet started. But can you give me another reasonable explanation why we are there?

Here is a link to the announcement. I was off, it is only a trillion dollars worth.
