Why the ‘Strategists’ Are Wrong About a Brokered Convention.
Breitbart.com ^ | March 17, 2012 | Frank Salvato

Along with the realization that Conservatives can win in a Conservative-leaning country, comes the ugly truth that the “establishment” Republican apparatus is – just like the Chicago politician – more concerned with maintaining power and “selecting” candidates than doing the hard work of administering to a bottom-up organization – such as the Republican Party was chartered to be.

Today’s Republican establishment is, for all practical purposes, a mirror (or converse) image of the Democrat Party; an organization structured from the top-down. This power-hoarding of the hierarchy is evidenced by the ridiculous move to award convention delegates proportionately, a move more in line with the abolition of the Electoral College than with the preservation of the Republic.

Well, we have a significant portion voting for an establishment bit player.

I've read all your post on this thread, BOY do I love your devotion to NEWT, I share that love and admiration for such a dedicated patriotic American as Newt Gingrich.

I want Newt to go for the jugular of the GOPe in Tampa. I'm positive he knows how.

Great job, Yose.

To see those Rinos all lined up together is nauseating, isn’t it?

I’m trying to get some thoughts about a 3rd party movement vs working within the Republican Party, or growing the Tea Party movement and having it get behind conservative candidates instead of the most conservative Republican, or......

If they try that they will lose the election, and lose me and many others as members.

Getting to 1,144 gets harder and harder. If there is an open convention, most of the delegates will be conservatives.

Thanks for this thread.

HEY! FRANK SALVATO! YEAH YOU!!! I know your editor wants column inches out of you, but at least TRY to be relevant! Democrat Dick is who you are waiting to hear his reply to you?

HEY! We, the voters, are over here! The last two Administrations have assigned a combined 9 TRILLION dollars of IOU’s to your grandchildren’s descendants, and you write a Q and A to Dick Morris?

If the RINO Express wins the Nominee again for the Establishment RNC, the Tampa will be the Last Hurrah for the Party of Lincoln. Take it to the Bank.

None of your points addressed the major financial issues of this National Election. All you wrote about was gibberish about “ Just hold your nose, AGAIN, when you vote for OUR Nominee.”

BTW, how did that strategy work out for the RNC back in 2008?

...The benefits of a brokered convention.. we would see:

a) Barack Obama’s campaign apparatus split into four redundant efforts as its war chest is depleted.

b) an Obama campaign without advanced research and preparation about the GOP candidate.

c) a GOP primary slate that acts like they actually believe Progressivism and Barack Obama are the opponents and not their fellow Republicans

How sweet would that be!!! On to Convention!!!!!

Go get em' Newt! The American people don’t want Romney or Obama. We want a new government - a small limited government with freedom, liberty and back to the Constitution. I hope the various Tea Party groups get together and ‘call up’ a massive 2 million person Tea Party Rally at the convention with Sarah/Newt signs and Gadsdens waving. Now that would be a site to behold.

What is it going to take for them to get the message? We want our country back!

All this week Romney has been carpet bombing Santorm in IL prior to the March 20th primary. Newt has been running ads to and his are upbeat and positive as opposed to Romney's. I haven't heard a lot of Santorm ads yet, but I'm sure he's running them.

The bottom line: I positively LOATHE Romney for what he is doing. I will vote for Newt because I feel he's the best guy to go against BOTH Obama, the Donkeys, the MSM, and the RINO establishment elite.

I want to see RINO establishment elite's blood and bodies on the floor of the convention. I want these RINOs driven out or reduced to impotence for a long time. They have urinated on conservatives for my lifetme and they have squandered this country's reputation and riches and military and working people like a bunch of methamphetamine addicts. Time to put an end to the RINO establishment elite — and you creeps know who you are.

What are everyone’s thoughts about the long term prospects of the conservative movement? Is working within the Republican Party preferable to.....?

These are mine in the following post from born to Conserve. He said it much better than me, but I once tried to encourage this Freeper who was saying he was tired, he had had it, no more republican party, he wasn't going to do anything but prepare for the end of America. And I tried to tell him, I could understand why he was tired, but if he could hold on, and even vote for romney if he had to, on Jan 21, 2013, we could start organizing to oppose romney at re-election, and a new generation of young people would be on board because of Newt. a lot can be done in 4 years, and no 3rd party this time to screw things up really.

The dual party system is about to shift on its axis. In the great depression, the distinguishing axis was that of socialism vs individual rights. During WWII and the Cold War, the distinguishing axis was socialism vs national defense. Now we’re going back to the socialism vs individual rights.

Seeing the pattern? We have to quash socialism once and for all. Get rid of the red menace, and everything else will resolve itself.

What to expect: the republican party is going to split, the “Tea Party” will form, the big government socialists will go to the democrat party and the republican party will cease to exist. In the democrat party, the moral conservatives will go to the Tea Party, and the socialists will remain. For this election cycle, Romney will win, and will be the last Republican (in name) president. During his reign, the representatives and senators will start taking sides, of the aisle, literally. The left (democrats) will support Romney, the right (Tea Partyers) will oppose him.

Gingrich and Palin will be elected in four years under the new Tea Party.

“Newt led a revolution, so that tends to leave bodies on the floor.”

And he'll do this at Convention as well....I can hardly wait to see that game played. The establishment will do all they can to stop it.....poor Romney hadn't considered this no doubt...hahahaha!

I have so many vacation days I haven't taken, and I put in for all of them for a little before, through, and after the convention. I so much hope it turns out to be a showdown. I love showdowns!!

If the RINO establishment elites try to block Newt from speaking at the convention in Tampa, there WILL be Hell to pay. (Sometimes, I really do pity the poor, dumb RINO establishment elite because they really don’t have a clue what kind of high explosives they are playing with. That takes about a second and I get over it.)

I have been saying for a year now we needed a TEA Party March on GOP headquarters... The GOP Convention would do just as well.

And you know what the upside of this is, if you are a Newt supporter, I don't think Santorum has the stomach for this, while Newt would revel in it, and shove their heads in the sand at the Convention. Newt isn't exactly what you would call a "team player".

I'm ready to pull the plug. This primary is dashing my hopes, but a brokered convention with blood on the floor might prove to be the remedy.

GO Sarah and Newt!
