The Exec.Order allows the nationalization of pretty much the entire USA even in peacetime if he desires. They can, under this order, restrict civilian travel by any mode, including (probably) foot travel. They can ration food. They can restrict water usage, even from private wells. They can ration any and all drugs, including OTC and vitamins. They can collectivize farms. They can take over all energy production, including home solar units. It also allows for drafting civilians. If they have need of your skills, they can compel you to work for no compensation. All this not in a time of war, but in time of “National Emergency” (several EO national emergency states already in place) or even in Peacetime

Good grief people, this is being blown all out of proportion. Hussein didn’t sign anything “that allows him to take over all our liberty’s”.
This is the same EO that’s been in place since 1994 and apparently amended several times since.
Obama made some minor changes, as Bush did previously, but otherwise there is simply nothing here to get excited about.
Now we are doomed to endless, dopey conspiracy theories about this instead of focusing on the real economic issues Obama wants to avoid discussing.

Yeah I read it and the conspiracy theorists are usually have their crazy interpretation of this Executive Order. I remember the left wing lunatics doing the same when President Bush issued similar executive orders and the loons thought that he was going to cancel elections and put them all in concetration camps.
Yeah, I’ve read it and so have others that aren’t so prone to jumping on the latest conspiracy theory. There is nothing here to get excited about unless one feared this EO prior to Obama taking office. It’s the same 1994 EO that had already been updated by Bush. The Hussein administration made a few minor changes that have already been analyzed and are nothing anyone needs to get their panties in a bunch over.
This silly impulse many people have to assume the worst and jump on the latest conspiracy theory bandwagon is truly ridiculous and makes some quarters of opposition to Obama look truly insane.

If there is already a “similar” EO in place, why another one then?
I have seen some of my stuff elsewhere too.
But...given the gravity of the situation, they can use it and if they want to take ‘credit for it,’ that is their mistake in the blogger world. “They” will be among some of the first to go.
But...the word needs to get out. Credit or not.
