GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum lambasted Mitt Romney this morning on This Week, calling him a flawed candidate and asking for a one-on-one debate with the former Massachusetts governor.
Id love to be able to get one-on-one with Gov. Romney and expose the record that would be the weakest record we could possibly put up against Barack Obama, said Santorum. We cant nominate such a weak candidate.
Santorum lashed out at Romney for hiding behind billionaires and for his similarities to President Obama.
The more I look at the record of Gov. Romney and match it up against Barack Obama, I feel like I am doing a training run for the general election, said Santorum. The same issues Im out there campaigning on against Gov. Romney are the same issues Im going to campaign against Barack Obama on.
The former senator from Pennsylvania argued that President Obama and the former governor of Massachusetts shared similar positions on health care, cap and trade and the bailouts.
Unfortunately, Gov. Romney and Barack Obama are in the same place, Santorum said. Gov. Romneys on the same page as Barack Obama on all of these issues.

List Ping!
Yea, because Newt makes you both look weak.
Santorum, who chickened out of the GA debate, now wants to debate Romney (who also chickened out) one on one?
If either one was ever involved in anything more stressful than name-calling, I'd be surprised. They are both poster children for the diminishment of American manhood.
The next time a piece of liberal offal like Jonathan Karl asks Santorum about Romney’s dog, Shamus, and if that should enter into a political campaign, Santorum needs to quote Mahatma Gandhi:
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
(and, wipe that insipid smirk off your face, Jonathan Karl. Remember; even the puppetmaster Soros said there was little difference between Romney and Obama. It’s just becoming more apparent by the day that Obama wants to treat non-black Americans worse than Romney’s poor dog Shamus, ‘cause we’ve been so “mean spirited” for centuries.)
Santorum is getting desperate and he and his supporters still don't know it yet.
I thought Santorum was against any more debates. Last week his supporters here were all “no more debates”. Now they’re jacked up about debates?
All Romney has to do is mention Title 10, Arlen, he worked with Boxer and Hillary, his earmarks and Lil Ricky will fold, as he should.

It’s bad enough to give scum like Mitwit any ammo, but if Lil Ricky thinks Mitwit would be tough, obama would be even worse. He would eat Lil Ricky alive with his record. Two lousy ecords does not a president make.
Tick should be careful what he wishes for. Romney absolutely crushed him in the Michigan debate. Does Rick really want another “take one for the team” moment?
Rick. I haven’t had coffee yet.
Santantrums,.......LOL!
Santantrums! Nice! I sense another “take one for the team” moment in Rick’s near future.
Rick's not very smart.
This hurts him in two substantial ways:
1. The contrast between "nice, handsome, calm guy Romney and the shrill, mean church lady will be stark. The CONTENT of the debate probably won't have much to do with folks impressions.
2. This could subject Santorum to challenges from Gingrich. Again, content not being the deciding factor.
While Santorum believes he's in these debates winning on points, a reasonable argument, his campaign didn't really take off until the debates were over.
He's not a likeable guy and the election is for King of the Prom.
I think that what Santorum is saying is that he does not want to go through another debate as the target of all three other candidates. Three against one are daunting odds. Santorum would be a fool to accept another debate under those conditions.
On top of that, the debate was held in Mesa, AZ, a town with the highest Mormon population outside of Utah. Santorum should have seen it coming.
Maybe. But it is useless to debate a guy that can't win any states. That is like Ron Paul supporters saying, “Debate me!” You can't debate the losers. It is not beneficial at all. It would be a waste of time.
I’m talking about the Michigan debate Eva. It was the turning point. Granted it was two on one (Newt stayed above the fray; turned everyone of John King’s questions back on Obama). The real damage that was done to Rick was done by Romney though.
Go away Santorum and let Newt speak.Or better yet let Rick Perry take the helm is it the true conservative.
