It was a sobering dinner party last night... Hosted by a London billionaire in his exquisite home...but the conversation between the ten of us was stone-cold serious...

"You know what my biggest fear is?" our host asked. "It's not really Obama, for what he's done is to accelerate what the liberals have been slowly doing for decades -- so quickly that their socialism is obvious to everyone. Which means the solution is obvious to everyone. My biggest fear is that voters will give Republicans the power to repair America on November 2nd -- and the Republicans won't have the courage to do it."

Newt (who thrives on antagonism instead of flinching from it) will take the bold measures to recover the economy despite being thrashed every night on the MSM news channels. In Four years the MSM will be flabbergasted like their were on election night in 1984, because the man on the street will notice the economy improvement.

Mitt is a Flincher, Newt is a Clincher

I just hope the voters realize it before it is too late. They shouldn't fear a brokered convention. I remember the tussling in past conventions where the party actually made the decision on the floor. Screw the media and pundits who want to anoint now so they have more time to trash the Republican.

The Problem as I see it with Romney is that he will be such a mediocre President that even if he does win he will be so middle of the road as to “not upset the apple cart” that the economy will not bloom and then in 4 years it will assure that the democrats take back power on the whole meme that the “economy didn’t recover”.

That is an excellent five-year prognostication. I think I'll file it away for future reference. Can't you just hear the Dems 2016 election pitch? "Bush drove us in the ditch. Obama was getting us out but didn't have enough time. Romney put us back in the ditch."

"...frustrating to receive their patronizing emails back from Congress..."

That is very true, BUT the beauty of the CC is that if enough press gets them, soon they will start to talk about it and air it, which will embarass the congressional creeps - as they are scared to death of the media - and it'll we "we know that they know that we know that they know", etc.

It's kind of like the lawyer who usually knows the answer to the question before he asks it court.

[Romney] would be absolutely delighted to keep Obama’s Czars right where they are.

You really think he'd be THAT bad? Ewwww! Horrifying! Wouldn't there be pressure from whatever Cabinet Republicans he would have to appoint to get rid of these unconstitutional competitors for what should be the Cabinet's areas of oversight?

If we don’t get Newt, nothing will change. I can see the man working 24/7 working to change obama’s executive orders and add a few of his own.

One should do it: "This executive order hereby declares null and void all executive orders and appointments made by Barack Obama."

there is a very real possibility that very little of the big government initiatives of Obama will be rolled back . . . especially with a big government conservative like Santorum or a big government moderate like Romney in charge.

Give them a chance to see the real need now and act accordingly. They have both lived to see the downside of ever-increasing government, and surely their constituents will scream for a rollback of socialism.

Times are hard now and they’re going to get a lot harder in the weeks to come.

Obummer and his Marxist buddies WILL NOT yield the high ground quietly. They’ve been working for decades to reach this point and victory (by their definition) is too close.

I expect to see some triggering event by September at the latest. Once the “bitter clingers” start shooting, Obummer can impose martial law and suspend the Constitution — then all bets are off.

We’re sitting on a powder keg, folks. Please complete your stockpiles — soon.

This country needs a miracle desperately.

We all need to do this most critically important part of preparing for the election:

“... excellent five-year prognostication...”

Amen - go GraceG!

Meanwhile in the “backwaters” of the mid Hudson, Andrew Cuomo is circling in for the kill - i.e. the 2016 candidate.

Romney will smoooooth his way - just as Pataki did for Spitzer.

Cuomo’s strategy - squeeze labor because they have nowhere to go. This to make brownie points for the realists who know the pension plans are Unsustainable in New York and on a Federal level. (Greece. anyone??) Tier VI is a stop gap. Romney fits in well with these plans.

If Romney gets in - we (conservative republicans) are CHUM.

cue - music - Blood in the Water ....(Legally Blonde - for those not inclined towards Musical Theater)

set up dorms for them, guarantee every congressman free travel to and from sessions.

The cost of Democrat jet travel alone for hogs like Pelosi and Michelle would be slashed to smithereens if government officials had to take a military HOV air "bus", get off at various hubs and take the final hop by small plane. The dorm idea is also perfect. They could use the former Walter Reed buildings and go to work on the DC bus system with the locals. LOL! I'd pay to see that!

Newt also won't change anything. He's been in D.C. way too long and he is more part of the problem than a solution. Add to that he's not much of leader. Good revolutionary but terrible leader.

Buck up, people. We are not going to win this by pessimism. Any Republican we can elect will have political staff and a Cabinet and a VP. Everyone thought Reagan was a) too old and b) too dumb. Look how dramatically he changed things for the better.

I’ve worked out in my mind who a few of the players might be. So many conservatives, especially in the media, have to live in deep cover.

Obama...was blessed in January 2011 with the shooting of Rep. Giffords. It focused eyes on the ‘evil’ of Republicans and their ‘targets,’ and away from what he was doing to the country...the Dems shameful response ...was shut down the GOP and the Tea Party whose candidates had just been seated the week before.

But thanks to the new media, their claims were shown to be a sham within a week. The shooter was not a Republican, a conservative or a Tea Partier; but rather a psycho. That news did seem to penetrate the MSM Wall of Silence. Just sayin.'

The GOP leadership...have said or done little or nothing when Obama tramples on the Constitution with executive orders, does end runs around Congressional approvals and seeks to erode our Bill of Rights.

All who haven't voted in their state primaries yet need to work with their local RNC to elect fresh, new Republicans to office; and get on their tails immediately to see that the Constitution remains the law of the land.

I do have to agree that in my grad-level course on "Achieving Influence", the professor cited the use of the "cc" to as many influential people as possible when trying to bring attention to your correspondence.
