What If Oil and Natural Gas Are Renewable Resources?
The American Thinker ^ | March 18, 2012 | Greg Lewis

Posted on 03/18/2012 12:46:10 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

....The evidence is mounting that not only do we have more than a century's worth of recoverable oil in the United States alone (even if there is a limit to the earth's oil supply), but that we also actually have a limitless supply of Texas tea because oil is in fact a renewable resource that is being constantly created deep under the earth's surface and which rises upward, where microscopic organisms that thrive in the intense pressure and heat miles below us interact with and alter it.

In other words, we have an unending supply of oil, some of which is constantly migrating upward from the depths at which it is created to refill existing oil deposits, and much more of which remains far below the surface. This oil can be recovered using existing technology.

....Russian technology was developed in the 1970s to test the theory by drilling as deep as 40,000 feet into the earth. As a result, Russia was the first nation to begin to understand and exploit these renewable oil reserves, and today their oil industry is thriving.

The political implications for Barack Obama and the radical environmentalist base he panders to with his corrupt "renewable" energy policy are profound. First, as we've seen, the president continually misrepresents the amount of recoverable oil available to us. His assertion that we have "only two percent of the world's oil reserves" available to us is simply a lie, as Susan Duclos documents in this piece. We're awash in oil reserves, and it's up to our political candidates to expose Obama's baseless fabrications about our energy reserves.

Beyond that, most Americans have digested the fact that the entire environmentalist rationale for pursuing "green energy" technology is built on fabricated global warming....

My husband has always said this. It really does make sense, I always knew it wasn’t just the dinosaurs.

Take 30 minutes. Expand the video to fill the screen and listen to Newt on American Energy Independence [also a transcript].

Game changer alert!

I have heard of the Russian research on this topic and the results are worth noting. Russian researchers were actually able to duplicate the creation of oil in the laboratory using extremes of heat & pressure.

I asked a guy in church who is in the oil business and asked him, “If oil is basically dinosaur sh*t and old plant life, are there ever any bits & pieces that come up that actually show this? He couldn’t really answer the question.

Even if it were true, it’s not being created fast enough to satisfy our appetite for oil.

Humans have been transmogrifying substances into oil for generations. Why is it so hard to believe nature is doing the same thing?

I have long held that oil is a self-generating renewable resource. I have read articles from decades ago which noted that once dry wells became replenished, albeit slowly.

The radical left greens lie for the purpose of trying to amass government power over others and to control our lives, i.e., enslave us.

While it is occuring if course, it is the rate....and the where....that we don't know.

Be careful you don't trap yourself in an "endangered species" situation.

Take trees for example...We now take one and plant 3....

If we take x barrels but only 1/2x is "renewing" at the same time, we are indeed in an "endangered species" situation.

Don't give them any ideas.

We have a lot of uses for petroleum. How great to think it it’s renewable, like trees.

I've known this since soon after the Russian project yielded its data. We should reject and refute the term "fossil fuels" for "petrochemical fuels" in any energy discussion not specifically about coal.

Never let the left control the language of debate.

Got a reliable source for that?

“Got a reliable source for that?”

Yes. Just look at the price at your local gas station.

I wonder what the math would show if someone were to covert all of the oil and gas we have ever used to its caloric equivalent and then figured out how much dinosaur meat that equals. It seem impossible to me that enough of this meat found its way into collections miles deep to be converted into hydrocarbons by a (to me at least) murky process that somehow left no hint of bone or tooth in the mess that has produced billions of barrels of oil and cubic feel of gas.
