After decades as a dominant force in talk radio, Rush Limbaugh could be in for his biggest fight yet. But the threat isn't from activist groups who dislike his conservative politics. It is from one of his own: former Republican governor of Arkansas and onetime presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee.
Starting April 9, Mr. Huckabee, a Fox News Channel commentator, will go head-to-head with Mr. Limbaugh in a syndicated radio program airing in the noon to 3 p.m. Eastern time, weekday slot.

I'll give him six months; he's boring enough on TV as is, and taking on the Doctor of Democracy will leave him, as so many before, on the losing end.

Ted Baxter (aka Bill O’Reilly) tried this sometime ago. Remind me how that turned out...

Same threat as o’reilly. None. Huck will move time slots or retire in 24 months.

Indeed - the kerfuffle is over. Only the libturds are trying to keep the Rush controversy alive - everyone else is bored with it and Rush’s sponsors are trying to come back. He wins his time slot and that’s what matters to local stations.
And as far another NY station having to change their format to sign up Rush, in San Francisco for years he was on KNBR, an all sports station, which won the 9-12 timeslot until Rush moved over to KSFO.

Huckabee’s show will play to the evangelical who is listening at noon. Won’t take much away from Rush. However, the left will be able to use tit during sweeps to show Rush losing audience, which of course a the intention.

I get Rush’s podcast because he doesn’t come in at my office building. Then I discovered iTunes radio - and listen to him, Hannity and Levin on WBAP in Dallas. It’s so nice to get news at the top of the hour that doesn’t lead off with the latest messiah sigh about Obama.
Plus in the morning before Rush I get to listen to Mark Davis, who I really like, and the local commercials are great. It’s like an island of sanity in liberal land.

The Huckster will fail for the same reason O’Reilly did. He believes leftists are well-meaning and patriotic, but just misguided, and certainly not our enemies.
Rush understands that leftists ARE in fact our enemies. And that’s why leftists despise him.

in NYC , on 970 Miller 11 am to 1 pm, Prager 1 to 3pm no excitement there. 770 WOR has Joan Hamburg & Dave Ramsay. Who? & Who?
What other national choice are on versus Rush? Huckabee will be a clear choice? Not really.

There is nothing huckabee could say or do that would have me even tuning in to his show for 5 minutes during rush. When I hear him do that little Rest of the Story Newsblurb I want to disinter Paul Harvey and have him do it.
Huck could dress as Maria and sing West Side Story, he could have his sons torture dogs live, he could juggle sharp instruments, he could announce the return of the messiah, I’m not tuning in.
